This position is an integral member of the leadership team for assigned segments of the business, acting as the trusted advisor on strategic human resources (HR), teammate relations, and other matters that impact business results. The Manager, Teammate Relations provides direct leadership, coaching, and direction to Teammate Relations Advisors and/or Generalists, ensuring consistency, risk mitigation, and compliance with DaVita policies, Core Values, and applicable employment laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and mentoring to TMR Advisors and/or TMR Generalists to support high performance, team engagement, and continuous professional development.
  • Ensure all Teammate Relations activities are aligned with DaVita’s culture, mission, and Core Values, executing on Justice League / LEO strategy to support operational business needs.
  • Partner with operational leaders and corporate functions, serving as an internal consultant and strategist to deliver positive business results and navigate complex employee relations matters.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to People Services (PS) policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance with Teammate Relations findings and action plans.
  • Guide, evaluate, and calibrate escalated teammate relations issues, corrective actions (including Written Warnings, Final Written Warnings and Terminations), Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and involuntary separations to ensure equitable, consistent application and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate closely with Labor & Employment attorneys, Employment Investigations, People Services Managers/Directors (PSMs/PSDs), Privacy, Compliance, and Risk to address high-risk and sensitive workplace concerns.
  • Oversee case management workflows, turnaround metrics, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across platforms (Workday, Spot, EthicsPoint).
  • Analyze teammate relations trends and metrics to identify root causes and partner on educational initiatives that upskill leaders across the Village in performance management and workplace civility.
  • Support special initiatives, process improvement projects, and policy updates as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) required.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive Human Resources and/or Employee Relations experience required.
  • Prior supervisory, team lead, or formal leadership experience required.
  • Experience supporting multi-site, distributed healthcare or retail operations preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (experience with California employment law is a plus).

The Salary Range for the role is $78,000.00 - $119,000.00 per year.
