The Manager, Third-Party Management (TPM) provides strategic leadership for the organization's Enterprise Vendor Risk Management program and serves as the second line of defense for risks arising from third-party relationships. This role is accountable for establishing enterprise governance, driving program strategy, ensuring regulatory readiness, and continuously enhancing the maturity of the organization's third-party risk management capabilities. The TPM Manager leads a team of risk professionals while partnering with executive leadership, Enterprise Risk Management, Procurement, Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, and business leaders to ensure consistent, risk-based oversight of critical third-party relationships. This position is responsible for the overall effectiveness, scalability, and strategic direction of the TPM program. 
 

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and enterprise ownership for the Third-Party Risk Management program, establishing long-term program vision, governance, and operating standards.
  • Develop and execute the enterprise Third-Party Risk Management strategy aligned with organizational objectives, Enterprise Risk Management, and regulatory expectations.
  • Establish governance structures, policies, standards, risk methodologies, and oversight processes governing the full third-party lifecycle.
  • Lead a high-performing TPM organization by developing talent, coaching leaders, establishing performance expectations, and fostering continuous professional development.
  • Serve as the executive advisor on third-party risk matters, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership regarding material vendor risks, emerging threats, and enterprise risk exposure.
  • Oversee independent challenge of high-risk vendor assessments, residual risk decisions, remediation plans, and risk acceptance recommendations.
  • Establish executive reporting, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and Board-level metrics that provide meaningful visibility into third-party risk exposure and program effectiveness.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management to integrate third-party risk into enterprise risk assessments, risk appetite discussions, and strategic planning activities.
  • Build strong partnerships across Procurement, Legal, Information Security, Privacy, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, and business leadership to embed effective third-party risk management across the enterprise.
  • Evaluate and oversee third-party risk technology strategy, including workflow automation, reporting capabilities, system enhancements, and future platform investments.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; 1 or more years of supervisory/management experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Information Security, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Deep understanding of the third-party risk management lifecycle and applicable risk and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on accountability and execution quality.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex risk information and support risk-based decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting and presentations.
  • Ability to influence and partner across functions without direct authority.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation quality, defensibility, and regulatory readiness.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. 
Pay Grade 23. $107,444 - $232,795
