This opportunity entails being responsible for providing leadership over an assigned team to ensure the continual development of new and existing quality assurance processes. This position acts as a subject matter expert in own discipline and participates in cross-functional collaboration to ensure system compatibility across HNTB.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for the management, growth, and professional development of the Technology Quality Assurance team. Coordinates department activities, establishes priorities and product delivery.
  • Manages the Quality Assurance team for developing, applying and maintaining testing and quality assurance processes, and document management technologies.
  • Leads and participates in all phases of application development lifecycle. Establishes Quality Assurance, release management and deployment plans, milestones, and deliverables in consultation with all stakeholders.
  • Provides support for periodic financial audits as needed.
  • Collaborates with Technology PMO on defining project objectives, resource planning, allocation, and support for projects.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and provides technical guidance to others.
  • Researches and implements new or improved testing methods, automation, processes, tools, and systems and develops and coordinates appropriate test procedures.
  • Coordinates with management in developing long term plans for Quality Assurance.
  • Works with other technology managers to ensure system compatibility across the company.
  • Communicates with the stakeholders regularly to build a strong relationship, manage escalations, and continuously improve support services.
  • Manages Change Advisory Board (CAB) to coordinate change management activities, Emergency (ERFC)/Urgent (URFC) changes and project release(s) into the production environment.
  • Mentors and develops team members on best practices and techniques to achieve a mature Technology Quality Assurance practice.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development and retention of section staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree and 8 years progressive IT relevant experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 12 years progressive IT relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert with respect to Quality Assurance principals as applied to application development, programming languages and code. Demonstrates knowledge of security testing concepts. Possesses an understanding of database management concepts such as database design, SQL and data manipulation.
  • Utilizes experience to guide and develop the QA team surrounding various technical concepts, such as troubleshooting, verification of functionality, automation testing and the ability to increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of the testing process.
  • Makes data-driven decisions while being mindful of the needs of the Firm. Exercises judgement and demonstrates critical thinking in all areas of the job. Approaches work proactively and plans departmental goals through a strategic lens.
  • Motivates, guides and empowers a team of professionals with the intent to foster a positive work culture and work toward a shared goal.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOPS, Azure Data Services
  • Experience with Workday, BST Global, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics Sales
  • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft database technologies
