- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing process engineering team. Make developmental plans, hiring decisions, and assign resources as required to drive performance, create succession, and build depth.
- Provide expert technical guidance to teammates and external audiences scaling from operators to functional leadership and customers.
- Drive technical advancement and continuous improvement activities, including melt process qualifications, within the group.
- Support best practice transfer within SM melt facilities and across to adjacent BU melt facilities.
- Collaborate with technical leadership to bring tactical definition to functional organizational strategy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field
- 6-year minimum experience in metallurgical processing of Ni or Ti based alloys
- MS or PhD Degree
- Experience in technical or operations leadership is a plus
- Knowledge of nickel and steel alloy melt processing
- Knowledge of ATI processes, objectives, and operations.
- Understanding of statistical process control, continuous improvement methodologies, and problem-solving approaches via the scientific method.
- Excellent people skills, including interpersonal verbal and written communication.
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Organizational agility to work across departments, plant sites, and business units to develop and execute technical development projects.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven leadership skills to effectively guide and develop team members.
- Motivate a highly skilled technical team with a range of education and experience.
