What You Will Do in this Role
Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Manager, Technical Services – Greenhouse & Nursery will provide technical support to Atticus’ EcoCore Business. This role will be the principal lead and contact for the technical service activities in the Greenhouse and Nursery segment. Those activities include supporting the EcoCore sales team by organizing and presenting technical information on our products, fostering and maintaining strong customer relationships, assisting in customer inquiries, product training, and supporting other activities necessary to optimize the registration and marketing of our products to drive adoption and use.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the Atticus greenhouse and nursery portfolio.
- Facilitate, develop, and maintain relationships with distributor partners, greenhouse and nursery growers, and relevant research contacts.
- Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs and promote Atticus portfolio.
- Deliver technical knowledge and problem-solving to our greenhouse and nursery customers regarding the most effective use and application of products.
- Build strong relationships with internal functional disciplines, including but not limited to Commercialization, Marketing Communications, Regulatory & Operations. Ensure cross functional collaboration across functional areas to assist with key initiatives to drive business.
- Provide input to Sales and Marketing on competitive activity and market conditions.
- Assist with customer inquiries.
- Give presentations to distributors and end-user customers.
- Help with launching new products into the greenhouse and nursery space.
- Actively participate in internal team meetings providing customer feedback to enable Atticus to meet customer and business needs.
- Assist in identifying go-to-market opportunities, customer pain points, and tactics to reach sales and profit objectives.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- S. degree in Horticulture or related field, Ph.D. preferred.
- 5+ years of industry experience with preference to roles related to the greenhouse and nursery industry.
- A thorough knowledge of the professional greenhouse and nursery markets, network of distributors, and end-users.
- Proven track record in providing trusted technical support.
- Self-starter with high degree of ownership and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills to deal with complex technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication skills.
- Strong track record of working effectively across diverse and cross-functional teams, under critical timelines and while balancing the needs of internal and external customers.
- Superior presentation skills - ability to develop a story, build PowerPoint presentations, and verbally deliver in a compelling way.
- Travel as needed to support the EcoCore Division.
