POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Technical Sales - AC Power, GSA Sales leads the technical sales team responsible for supporting AC Power equipment sales in Vertiv GSA accounts. This team primarily focuses on technical reviews of specifications, review of electrical drawings, and working with GSA Account Managers. This role works closely with the Director, AC Power Sales and the GSA Account Managers to support sales goals and drive growth in both existing and new customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads, mentors, and manages the GSA technical sales team to ensure alignment with key business objectives and fosters a high-performance culture.
- Provides technical review and response to RFP for Vertiv AC Power opportunities for GSA accounts. Primary focus will be specification CDE review/completion, review of Electrical Drawings submitted with RFP, assistance with initial equipment configurations based on understanding of specification and drawing requirements, and when required aid with completing project specific bid forms.
- Provides technical support for GSA account engagements including the following activities: assistance with development of concept power architectures, technical guidance for selection of best fit product ratings, battery selection and sizing, creation of concept single lines and virtual or in-person design reviews.
- Compiles and presents sales reports and analysis to senior leadership.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including offering management, sales, and engineering to drive development of new products and features.
- Represents the company and actively participates in key customer factory visits as needed.
- Participates as needed in account planning efforts and engagement strategies for key clients.
- Represents Vertiv at industry conferences, seminars, and customer presentations.
- Stays updated on evolving industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain Vertiv’s competitive edge.
- Provides industry feedback to product managers for product improvements and roadmaps.
- Optimizes the use of sales resources to achieve optimal return on investment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field of study (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 8+ years of industry technical experience.
- Technical knowledge of data center AC Power management products and applications.
- Deep market dynamics and industry knowledge.
- Proven track record of influencing engineering accounts.
- Experience working with sales offices.
- Salesmanship and self-confidence to deal with frequent, stressful customer relationship issues.
- Excellent sales presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical challenges into actionable plans.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience in sales.
- Experience in leading/managing high performing teams.
- Knowledge of Vertiv’s AC Power management product portfolio.
