The Role
The Manager of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting will play a key role in supporting the preparation of US GAAP financial statements, with the company anticipating future filings of Form 10-K and 10-Q. This position will work closely with internal teams across Aledade to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting. The ideal candidate will stay current on guidance from the FASB, SEC, and other relevant standard-setting bodies, and support the development and implementation of Aledade’s accounting policies and financial statement disclosures. Responsibilities also include researching US GAAP, assisting in the documentation and conclusion of accounting treatment for technical and complex matters—including revenue recognition, share-based compensation, and other non-routine topics—and coordinating with external consultants on ongoing and future projects.

We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office.

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate with Auditors to coordinate the quarterly reviews and the annual audit, and support reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and other operational leaders as needed
  • Perform technical accounting research, analysis, documentation, and enablement of significant or complex accounting matters
  • Support preparation of accounting entries for complex matters, including but not limited to revenue recognition, acquisition accounting and stock compensation expense
  • Ensure effective controls around the SEC reporting, internal reporting and technical accounting process, and assist in development of internal control framework across the business.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and serve as a key business partner to ensure that all transactions are properly reflected in the financial statements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 experience highly desirable) or a combination of public accounting and corporate technical accounting roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting standards.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in healthcare or technology industries is a plus but not required.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in preparing work
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative skills and accounting research skills
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Workiva

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
