At Pebl, every team member drives our success. Joining us means more than filling a role—you’re accountable for results and impact. Our values guide how we operate, execute, and collaborate across borders. By putting them into action, you’ll help us scale faster, compete harder, and lead the future of global work.

We are looking for a Manager, Technical and Corporate Accounting to join our Controllership Team. This is a fully remote role. This position combines technical accounting expertise with operational excellence. You will partner closely within the Corporate Accounting team to own key areas of the monthly close, prepare technical accounting analyses, support financial statement audits, and help establish scalable accounting processes and internal controls. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical accounting issues, remains hands-on in day-to-day operations, and brings strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

This position reports to our Assistant Global Controller. You'll play a key role in modernizing how we close — driving AI adoption, building scalable processes, and elevating the technical foundation of our corporate accounting team.

You Will:
  • Own the financial reporting preparation including statement of cash flows each month end and quarter end.

  • Own equity and other compensation awards accounting; partner with Equity Administration to ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment.

  • Lead the resolution of technical accounting matters, ensuring conclusions are operationalized through technical memo, accounting policies, journal entries, financial statement presentation, footnote disclosures, reconciliations, and process documentation.

  • Serve as primary accounting contact for external auditors, including facilitating PBC requests, preparing memorandums, drafting financial statements and accompanying footnotes, and tie-outs.

  • Be the subject matter expert on accounting for complex U.S. GAAP technical accounting matters, including classification, measurement, presentation, disclosure, and recurring close processes.

  • Support team on month-end and quarter-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Maintain accounting policies and memorandums, ensuring consistent application across the company.

  • Perform monthly flux/variance analysis, identifying and explaining material movements to finance leadership.

  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and translate new guidance into policies, implementation plans, disclosures, reporting calendars, and scalable processes.

  • Apply AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to streamline technical accounting workflows, automate recurring processes, and accelerate the close.

  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations to support new initiatives and ad hoc Finance department needs.

You Have:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.

  • Active CPA license required.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting; Big 4 or national firm experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated broad U.S. GAAP expertise, including revenue, leases, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany, and multi-entity/currency structures.

  • Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforward.

  • Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, as well as close management tools (FloQast, Numeric) and equity administration system (Carta, Slice).

  • Demonstrated ability to draft and review audit-ready technical memorandums, implement conclusions in recurring operations, work constructively with external auditors, and ground conclusions in evidence, economic substance, and authoritative guidance.

  • Demonstrated experience across close, technical accounting, and reporting, with a clear understanding of how technical decisions flow through journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, significant estimates, and external reporting.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency – comfortable with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.

  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) applied to accounting workflows preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to independently reconcile and resolve discrepancies.

  • Demonstrated track record of ownership and self-motivation.
