Position Overview:

The Manager - Tax Reporting, leads Tiffany & Co.'s global income tax accounting and reporting processes in accordance with IAS 12. This role is responsible for overseeing the monthly and annual tax provision, directing current and deferred tax calculations for domestic and international entities, and managing income tax forecasting, including effective tax rates, cash taxes, and related balance sheet impacts. The Manager ensures tax compliance, drives process efficiencies, and provides leadership within the tax department.

Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in-office at our Whippany, NJ location and 1 day remote.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Management of the monthly and annual global tax provision in accordance with IAS 12.  Coordinate the preparation and review of current and deferred tax calculations for domestic and international entities.
  • Ensure accuracy of accounting for and reporting of global income taxes.  Partner with tax team, business unit finance professionals, and third-party service providers in support of this goal. Manage the effective tax rate (ETR) analysis, tax account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain documentation supporting active global tax audits and uncertain tax positions and IAS 12/IAS 37 reserves.  
  • Identify, research, and document the Company’s position as it relates to the tax accounting consequences of new accounting pronouncements, changes in tax law, business transactions and activities in order to ensure the proper application of guidance.
  • Manage and execute the income tax forecasting process.  Partner closely with members of the tax department as well as financial planning to develop the estimated effective tax rate and global cash tax projections on an ongoing basis.  
  • Manage the income tax software suite of products that support tax accounting.  Partner with IT, the Controller’s organization, and FP&A on the design of systems to ensure tax requirements are identified, documented and included in system design.  Lead process improvement efforts to enhance the productivity of the tax department.
  • Provide training, coaching, and development for tax accounting staff.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in income tax accounting, with 2+ years in Big Four or large multinational corporations
  • Strong tax technical and research skills in federal and international tax
  • Expertise in tax accounting principles (ASC 740, FIN 18, IAS 12, FIN 48)
  • Proficiency in Thomson OneSource Tax Provision
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Managerial experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to manage complex tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Taxation
  • Big Four experience
  • CPA and/or other Industry affiliations and certifications
  • Experience with JD Edwards E1 and Hyperion Financial Management
     

The hiring range for this position ranges from $134,000 - $170,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
