We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager I for our Field Engineering organization based out of San Diego, CA.
What You’ll get to Do:
Manage the BACN program development and Integration for our OCONUS and CONUS locations (outside the continental U.S. and Continental United States), supporting Technical Field Engineering programs at various field sites throughout the Middle East.
Lead a team of approximately 15 highly skilled Field Engineers. In this dual role you will divide your time between team management and will also serve as the lead or be a contributor on programs within the Business Units/Operating Units supported by the team.
Responsibilities associated with managing the team include:

Functional supervision for a team of Field Engineers working multiple initiatives to include follow-on contracts, new business growth opportunities, internal research and development, and capital projects.

Leadership for support and adherence to standard SEIT processes.

Oversight of cost, schedule, and technical quality for field execution on supported programs, to include functional reviews for major milestone events (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.) and proposals as applicable.

Forecasting staffing needs and workload; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; providing employee training and identifying necessary skills for program execution; managing employee performance reviews; and leading multitude of functional management processes.

Recruiting new talent to fulfill staffing commitments.

Build diverse and inclusive teams with a focus on high levels of engagement, as well as provide mentorship and coaching.

Communicate and solve problems, while fostering positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Travel up to 25% to OCONUS and CONUS locations.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/technical discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or MS degree in an Engineering/technical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
-
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills along with proven success working in an integrated product team environment.
-
High proficiency in technical problem solving, to include root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.
-
DOD 8570 IAT Level II or greater certification (at a minimum must have a Security+ Certification).
-
Experience with the operation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of military communications systems, networks, and radios.

Must pass a physical health assessment and meet the minimal standards of fitness in alignment with AFCENT requirements.
-
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
-
Background and understanding in various tools and techniques associated with cost / schedule management (especially Earned Value Management).
-
Functional Management experience leading teams including Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test.
-
Experience working in a Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test environment, preferably in Defense or the Aerospace industry.
-
Experience working with deployed programs or related Defense systems.
-
Proficient in all stages of the engineering process from proposal and requirements analysis to verification testing.
Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
