Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Systems Engineer Manager 2 Functional Homeroom Manager to join our team in El Segundo. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.
This role will be a combination of 80% technical SOW and 20% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW. 
FHR Roles and Responsibilities will include:
• Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (/technicians if applicable) (10-15 personnel) including building an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
• Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs.
• Managing team member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts.
• Special assignments/data calls in support of the functional homeroom
• Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, property management, training, and configuration control.

 

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 20% may be required.

 

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience. • Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned -Value and performance measurement baseline concepts
• Currently briefed to and supporting applicable program statement of work.
• Currently reporting to a functional homeroom within the Systems Engineering directorate
• Experience leading a team or project
• Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects including some or all aspects of engineering project life cycle
• Cost Account Management experience
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
• Prior functional management experience including mentoring/coaching, and solving staff and resource issues

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,900.00 - $241,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
