Manager, Supply Chain, UAE

What You'll Do:

The Manager, Supply Chain, UAE will report to the Director of Maintenance - Archer Air and will be responsible for managing the procurement, storage, distribution, and accountability of materials, supplies, and equipment in Archer's UAE operational base, including tasks like receiving deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, issuing items as needed, performing stock checks, and ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping related to all materials. Our team focuses on providing support for Archer Midnight Entry Into Service in the UAE in 2025.

This is a "greenfield" project that will draw on industry best practices to create support methods and procedures tailored for the start of operations of air taxis in urban air mobility networks.

Work Streams Include: 

Order Processing and management 

• Forecasting demand to establish inventory needs and ordering plans.
• Processing requisitions for required materials based on demand forecasts or immediate needs. 
• Communicating with Archer US regarding order status and delivery timelines. 
• Manage adjustments to product costs based on changes in exchange rates. 
• Provide input to - and manage - data to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Minimize overall inventory value while maintaining on time delivery. 

Issuing Materials:

• Filling material requests from authorized users within the organization. 
• Verifying the accuracy of issued items and documenting transactions. 
• Managing returns and replacements for damaged or incorrect materials.

Logistics Coordination:

• Perform supply chain new-vendor qualification activities in coordination with Archer Quality Assurance, maintaining relationships. 
• Coordinate shipments and deliveries with internal departments and external vendors. 
• Arrange for transportation and packaging of materials. 
• Tracking shipment status and resolving any delivery issues. 

Compliance and Reporting:

• Perform periodic site audits of key suppliers. 
• Adhere to safety regulations regarding material handling and storage. 
• Maintain proper documentation and records related to material transactions. 
• Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and cost analysis.

What You Need:

Technical Skills:
5+ years material management experience, including 2-5 years management experience. 

Proficiency with inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), aviation maintenance information systems (MIS) and data entry applications. 

Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills to analyze inventory data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding ordering and stock levels. 

Communication & Collaboration Skills:
Effective communication with internal and external teams to understand material needs and with vendors to manage orders and deliveries. 

Organizational Skills:
Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a well-organized warehouse environment. 

Physical Requirements:
Capability to lift and move heavy items, operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (depending on the role). 

Legal and Work Eligibility Requirements

• Proven experience operating in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market is a must.
• Ability to work legally in the UAE. 
• Familiarity with UAE labor laws and regulations is a plus.
• Compliance with any specific regulatory or industry requirements applicable to the role.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Previous experience working for Commercial Aircraft OEM in Materiel Specialist role.
