Responsible for developing and executing processes and strategies to enable Supply Planning by collaborating with our supplier partners to plan and control inventory needs, efficient ordering methods, and increase operational efficiencies to generate optimum service levels and achieve KPIs. An example of this strategy in action is engagement with a joint business plan to review and assess the supplier’s ability to service our forecasted needs and work cross-collaboratively internally and externally to achieve the highest supplier fill rate, inventory leveling throughout the network, and customer experience. This role achieves its business value by directing suppliers where to ship supply, cross functionally with Commercial teams for inventory shortages and other supply chain issues and executes defines processes to increase inbound operational metrics.
Design and executes policy, develops scorecards to track key metrics and KPIs. Maintains collaborative working relationships and strong Communication with Commercial, GSC Merchandising, Field Operations, Business Technology, Field Merchandising, SBS, Finance, business unit leadership teams, and Executive Leadership.
Detailed knowledge of wholesale distribution allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas. Provides vision and direction to various stakeholders across the organization. Recognized as an influential leader within and outside the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute process and strategy to directly engage with the key supplier community. Collect supplier information and create processes that enhance coordination with Suppliers driving improvements in critical Supply Chain KPI’s.
- Design metrics and tracking mechanisms to calculate the effectiveness of the suppliers and create methods to improve supplier fill rate and customer experience such that site capacity, product shelf life, and aging/obsolete run rates aren’t negatively impacted. Communicate actions to stakeholders.
- Systems and Data Management: Oversee processes and reporting driving to clear actionable insights into supply planning within our supplier community. Lead and sponsor systems development efforts to increase system utilization or automate processes
- Monitor, influence and develop controls to ensure suppliers are within compliance. Develop processes to proactively identify compliance or inventory leveling issues and then processes to remediate. Report bottom line benefit associated to key stakeholders.
- Transactional Automation – Aggressively identify processing, data collection and other related manual work for replacement by automation. Replace transactional time with business value added functions.
- Responsible for driving issue and escalation resolution for assigned suppliers such as (but not limited to) RDC Redistribution fulfillment, supplier fulfillment, seasonal planning, excess inventory management, etc
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or six years’ experience in foodservice, wholesale or retail inventory management roles
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Supply Chain, or Procurement and Supply Contracts
Experience Required
- Five years of wholesale, foodservice distribution or retail distribution experience
- Must have a minimum of 4 years management experience with multiple direct reports
- Six years’ experience in lieu of Bachelor’s.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
- Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, suppliers, supply chain and/or Commercial analysts, warehouse operations and corporate leaders requiring negotiation skills to achieve this role’s goals as well as others’
- Effective working in a heavily matrixed environment
