The Manager, Supply Chain & Procurement is responsible for cost effective supply of all materials/equipment/services, including coordination of vendor acquisition and qualification, vendor relations, purchasing, price negotiation and analysis, cost tracking and warehouse management.

Requirements
  • Developing, leading, and integrating best-in-class Procurement Policies and Procedures for direct and indirect services, materials, and capital procurement.
  • Lead the enhancement and implementation of planning processes and procedures, as well as support the implementation of material planning and inventory management control strategies for the Munich site.
  • Identify, select and implement inventory/warehouse management system for Munich site
  • Establish and maintain efficient warehouse management processes
  • Lead material requirements planning for all GMP and Non-GMP materials. Reschedule orders and requirements by analysing changes in forecasts, inventory levels, laboratory schedules etc
  • Identifies new supply sources, qualifies vendors, and nurtures strong vendor relationships through supplier development programs
  • Creates RFPs, reviews bid proposals, coordinates bid review events with end user groups and negotiates final pricing and contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority we continue to receive competitive pricing, delivery, service, and quality
  • Negotiates purchase and payment terms on materials, equipment, and services and (re-)negotiate supply agreements with vendors improving commercial conditions.
  • Checks requisitions, obtains quotes, measures and reports vendor performance
  • Resolves vendor pricing, quality and delivery problems
  • Proactively coordinates with other areas of the business to assure adequate inventory levels, timely deliveries (expediting/backorder management) and adherence to material procurement requirements
  • Coordinates internal projects with various user groups to achieve improvements in quality while lowering cost
  • Manages laboratory management team and oversees their activities
  • responsible for laboratory operations budget (procurement of materials and equipment maintenance)

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Operations, Supply Chain or comparable disciplines).
  • 3+ in a related supply chain / planning / procurement or comparable disciplines
  • Experience in laboratory material planning
  • GMP experience preferred
  • Experience with implementing an inventory/warehouse system preferred
  • Prior employment at a biotech or pharmaceutical company in similar role preferred
  • Expertise in use of MS Excel and other ERP applications
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Driven and self-motivated with the ability to lead and facilitate priorities and activities across internal and external cross functional teams
  • Agility to quickly adjust and navigate shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Experience with managing a small team preferred
  • Fluency in English and German language
