Manager, Supply Chain Operations
Full-Time, Monday- Friday, Normal Business Hours
Location: Downers Grove, IL; Hybrid
The Manager, Supply Chain Operations owns the overall performance of Duly's buying and inventory functions, setting the operational priorities that guide their teams and translating the Director of Supply Chain Operations' strategic direction into scalable processes and measurable results. This manager is accountable for purchase order accuracy and timeliness, inventory par level optimization, and consistent product availability for clinics and departments across all sites of care — while actively managing the tradeoffs between supply reliability and cost efficiency, identifying process improvements, and partnering cross-functionally to resolve recurring supply chain issues before they impact patient care.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
Lead and develop the Buyers, Inventory Management Specialists, and any Supervisors within the team, ensuring purchasing and inventory operations run smoothly and scale effectively across all sites.
- Set staffing models and workload distribution standards across sites, ensuring the team scales with volume, exceptions, and shifting site priorities
- Establish service-level targets for purchase order turnaround, requisition backlog, and receiving exceptions; intervene directly on high-impact or unresolved issues
- Hire, develop, and evaluate team members — including building career paths and succession plans across the department
Purchasing & Inventory Strategy
Own the accuracy and integrity of purchasing and inventory operations across Duly's clinic and facility network, setting the standards and processes the team executes against.
- Establish and enforce purchase order approval workflows and authority thresholds across the network
- Set inventory strategy — par levels and replenishment models — to minimize stockouts, expired product, and excess carrying costs, balancing service level against cost
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify root-cause trends and drive corrective action across teams and vendors
- Lead implementation of new item conversions, GPO contract changes, and formulary updates, partnering with clinical and category stakeholders
- Own receiving and delivery operations for main campus, ASC, and rural locations, ensuring consistent service levels network-wide
Vendor Management & Escalation Resolution
Own vendor performance and serve as the primary point of resolution for supply chain issues affecting clinics and departments.
- Resolve escalated vendor service failures, backorders, pricing discrepancies, and delivery issues, holding vendors accountable to performance standards
- Partner with clinics and operations leaders to resolve recurring supply issues, manage substitutions, and close workflow gaps
- Resolve the majority of issues independently, escalating only the highest-risk or strategic matters to the Director of Supply Chain Operations
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Translate purchasing and inventory performance into insights and process improvements that inform departmental strategy.
- Build and maintain reporting and dashboards tracking departmental and vendor performance
- Deliver regular performance summaries — exception rates, resolution timelines, cost impact — with recommendations for action
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to streamline buying and inventory workflows across sites
