Position Summary:
The Manager of Supplier Quality will work with Supplier as well as Operations, Quality and Engineering to continuously improve supplier quality performance while ensuring compliance to quality standards. This role manages inspection personnel, monitors supplier performance, MRB and inspection plans. This position is intended for an individual with Professional Quality Control experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage receiving inspection personnel
- Reviews
- Timecards
- Assignments
- Track efficiency
• Monitor supplier performance
- Prepare monthly & quarterly metrics and scorecards
- Issue supplier corrective actions as needed
- Perform supplier on-site visits & audits
- Participate in supplier status calls
- Provide direct feedback to suppliers on issues identified in production
• Manage receiving inspection plans
- Create new inspection plans when needed
- Update current inspection plans with corrections, additions, or clarifications
• Manage MRB & scrap process
- Ensure problem statements are complete and correct
- Direct defect dispositions (scrap, rework, return to supplier, etc.)
- Provide guidance to internal teams on defect details
• Supplier maintenance in ERP system
- Set component MSL ratings
- Add notes and alerts as needed to identify specific criteria for some components
- Perform supplier risk assessment
• Provide support for customer visits and calls
• Provide support for 3rd party audits, management review and customer QBRs
• Support internal audit process
• Support internal CAPA process
• Support internal process improvement process
• Provide guidance and act as an SME for AS9102 reports (both reviewing suppliers and creating internally)
• Identify and support continuous improvement in the receiving inspection area
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is mandatory
• Self-motivated, analytical, good time management, detail oriented and thorough.
• Ability to work well with other people. Strong communication skills in speaking and writing.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, facilitation, listening, and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving.
• Able to use the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, Power point and Excel at an advanced level.
• Experience assisting with process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) is a plus.
Experience/Education:
• BS in Engineering or related field, previous experience and positions will be considered in lieu of degree.
• 2 years working in an electronic manufacturing environment, especially in a contract manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in or ability to become SME for PCB manufacturing is a plus
• 5 years of previous quality experience is a plus
• Mil-STD 883 & IPC 600,610 Experience is a plus
• Experience in Aerospace Standard for First Article Inspection (FAI, AS9102) is mandatory.
