  • This position has direct responsibility to plan and execute APQP Quality program deliverables as defined in Adient Quality operating system – BOS and the program launch deliverables in PLUS.
  • Management of Supplier APQP for program through delivery and approval of supplier PPAPs in alignment with program timing.
  • Management of large scale programs or of other AQE’s assigned
  • Responsible for the training and mentoring of Quality Engineers in the Quality disciplines.
  • Lead a cross-functional team within the SDT to ensure that the applicable lesson learned issues are closed before first customer part requirement per program timing.
  • Responsible for the elements of Supplier Advanced Quality Planning including the following: SAQP kick-off meeting, Process Sign-Off, Risk Analysis, line certification, Safe launch plans, and review and approval of Supplier PPAP.
  • Review the Supplier Prototype, Pre Production and Production Control Plans for the program and or approve the control plans of the supplier.
  • Review the Measurement System Analysis Plan for the program.  Responsible to ensure variable and attribute Gage studies are conducted on all gauging and improve Gage R&R where data indicates need. (R&R, Bias, Linearity, Stability)
  • Responsible for completion of the inspection reports for components that are used for pre production product builds.
  • Perform capability studies and document the results for program special characteristics, and ensure that Customer and internal requirements are met (or a written Customer deviation is obtained).
  • Responsible for the color/appearance approval process (AAR) (if applicable) from pre-grain to PPAP, including proper Customer submission paperwork, by either performing the required activities directly or coordinating the completion of these activities. 
  • Responsible to coordinate the preparation and on-time delivery of PPAP packages for submission and approval by the Customer.
  • Responsible to coordinate the preparation and on time delivery of supplier quality deliverables including: Control Plans, Capability Plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage design, Gage R&R, PFMEA, DFMEA (if applicable).
  • Utilize all applicable Customer-specific systems (e.g. Ford WERS, SIMS, GM SQMS, and Fiat Chrysler PRISM).
  • Ensure that appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout the Product and Process Development process and deployed into the Control Plan.
  • Responsible for completion of all other Customer-specific Advance Quality requirements.
  • Ensure that Customer, internally identified, and supplier quality issues are resolved using the appropriate problem-solving methods (Kepner-Tregoe, 8-D, DOE, 5 Why, Red X, etc.).
  • Leading to follow up and drive team for problem solving
  • Develop appropriate inspection plans and containment plans for pre- launch builds.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with set policies and procedures to ensure preservation of the Company Ethics and Quality Policy.
  • Support the comprehensive continuous improvement philosophy for all Adient disciplines.

  • Manage customer/supplier under critical situation.

  • Safety consulted when process change, new lines, new equipment, lay out change. Support & assisting in Safety activity and initiative:safety policy,JCMS,CCRM, HSE management plant audit,
  • lesson learnt implementation, HSE training,suggestion, near miss report,safet week,wear proper PPE and use proper work practices.
  • Zero terolence & fully compliance with high risk/critical work : Permit System,LOTO,working at heigh,confindspace,contractor control, forklift,lift,foam operation.machine guarding,welding,transportation,live  electrical, chemical.        

Qualifications (Education, Skills, and Experiences)

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required (or equivalent experience).  If master’s degree will get more consider.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience working in a manufacturing environment with at least 5 year in the position of Assistant Manager/Sr.Advance Quality Engineer. Ideally this should have been with a multinational company. Computers and standard business software (Microsoft Office as an example).
  • Qualities: A person who can organize data logically and also work at shop floor level and also communicate professionally to senior management in English.
  • Specific education and training in Quality disciplines is required, including (minimum): IATF16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
  • Leadership / Management experience in or outside of Johnson Controls.
  • Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals or team to improve performance.
  • BOS auditor training is preferred.
  • Candidates may have these requirements waived only by the Advanced Quality Manager (or equivalent). 
  •  (Mechanical or electrical) or country equivalent. Training in the tools of quality: Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Quality Operating Systems (QOS) and Internal Quality Auditing.
  • Understand and knowledgeable of GD&T tolerance system
  • Understand and knowledgeable of IMDS material system
  • Knowledgeable of customer requirement and gages concept for approval

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
