Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the substation engineering team, including physical and protection & control (P&C) engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Oversee the design and delivery of substation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and client specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, particularly in areas such as QA/QC, system protection, and power system analysis.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to track project progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Assist with resource planning and allocate team members to meet project deadlines.
- Review and approve design packages, including one-line diagrams, relay and metering designs, and physical arrangements for substations ranging from 4.16kV to 500kV.
- Support the department supervisors in identifying training needs and implementing development programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Substation Engineering and Business Development teams to identify and pursue new opportunities for department growth.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in substation design or a related field, with a focus on both physical and P&C engineering.
- Proficiency in substation design, including breaker upgrades, bus protection, and transformer replacement.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (NERC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA).
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
Licenses/Certification Required:
- P.E. License
