Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Manager Subcontracts Administration 3 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Sunnyvale, California. This exciting role supports the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors division, which supports the Submarine Industrial Base and  performing on Northrop Grumman’s existing programs and platforms while also exploring exciting and new opportunities to shape Northrop Grumman’s portfolio of the future. The position reports to the Director, Global Supply Chain for the Marine Systems Business Unit with sites in Sunnyvale, CA and Philadelphia, PA.  This position is fast-paced, with high expectations and significantly diverse assignments.  There is a strong preference for this role to be full-time onsite at our Sunnyvale, CA facility, however a hybrid work arrangement may be considered if the candidate is within a reasonable commute.

This role will lead the Subcontracts team which currently has 4 direct reporting managers and their subcontract specialists, and have oversight of the General Procurement team which currently has 1 direct reporting senior manager and their managers and procurement specialists.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Demonstrated success in leading managers and/or professionals to achieve project cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers and experience with complex subcontract negotiations.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Strong program management skills with ability to execute initiatives with urgency, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and collaborate well in a team environment across all levels.  Highly effective interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering an engaging environment for others.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with the skills to influence others, interact successfully with peers, and with all levels of management in the organization.
  • Experience establishing milestone objectives and managing performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience, or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in any of the following: Subcontracts Management, Procurement, Program Management, or Contracts Management
  • Experience managing Subcontract Programs and/or a Subcontracts Team of 5+ people in support of major defense programs
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience – Manager or Team Lead experience is acceptable
  • Experience with FAR and DFARS and/or similar environments supporting programs that range from research & development to full rate production
  • Experience with SAP or related purchasing software, in addition to Excel, PowerPoint, & MS Project
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Business, Global Supply Chain or Project Management
  • Experience with the SAP procurement system, Supplier Scorecards and performance management, NG Principles and Operating Practices, and metric analysis
  • Internal Northrop Grumman Subcontracts experience
  • Experience conducting presentations to and collaborating with Senior Leadership
  • Experience in negotiating Long Term Pricing Agreements and/or Risk and Opportunity Management  
  • Demonstrated experience assuring compliance with company command media and government regulations

Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
