KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the Head of Corporate Strategy in evaluating, executing, and monitoring strategic investment initiatives, including acquisitions, expansions, joint ventures, and divestments, in line with the Company’s long-term growth objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models, including valuation, cash flow projections, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analyses, to assess the commercial viability and value creation potential of investment opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate due diligence activities across financial, operational, technical, legal, and regulatory aspects, and identify key risks, mitigations, and value drivers.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing assets and investments against approved business plans, and recommend initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, profitability, and asset utilization.
- Conduct market intelligence and strategic analysis on the bulking, storage, logistics, and broader commodity infrastructure sectors to identify emerging trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Support the development, review, and execution of corporate strategy, business plans, and strategic initiatives to strengthen the Company’s competitive positioning and long-term sustainability.
- Prepare high-quality investment papers, strategic reports, and presentations for Senior Management, Investment Committee, and Board of Directors to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure all investment activities comply with FGV Group Investment Policy, governance framework, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, Operations, Commercial, Legal, and Technical teams to ensure effective evaluation, execution, and integration of investment and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a key liaison with bankers, investors, legal advisors, and government officials (local and international) to facilitate project approvals and funding.
- Maintain and enhance internal investment evaluation frameworks, databases, and performance tracking tools to support disciplined capital allocation and portfolio management.
- Undertake any other strategic, investment, or corporate planning assignments as directed by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCES
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree (MBA) or professional qualification (CFA, ACCA, CPA) will be an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Business Development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in financial modelling, valuation methods (DCF, IRR, NPV), and investment appraisal.
- Leadership: Strong capability to lead cross-functional teams and present confidently to C-suite executives and Board members.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel internationally for site visits and negotiations.
- Possess leadership skills, communication with customers, decision making and able to motivate others.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and can handle stress effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skill and leadership ability.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
