About The Role


The Strategic Sourcing Manager, Ingredients is responsible for leading the sourcing, supplier management, and category execution activities for assigned ingredient categories across Monogram Foods. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing, this individual contributor role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Commercialization, and Finance to ensure a reliable, cost effective, and competitive ingredient supply base. The role works alongside a peer Strategic Sourcing Manager, with responsibility for a defined portion of the ingredient portfolio. The successful candidate will leverage market intelligence, supplier relationships, and commercial expertise to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support business growth initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned ingredient categories.
  • Lead supplier selection activities, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships focused on performance, quality, service, and innovation.
  • Monitor commodity markets, industry trends, cost drivers, and supply risks impacting assigned categories.
  • Identify and implement cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercialization teams to support business objectives.
  • Support innovation and new product development initiatives through supplier engagement.
  • Develop risk mitigation and business continuity plans for key ingredients and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract requirements, and sourcing processes.
  • Present sourcing recommendations, supplier performance, and market updates to leadership.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
  • Food manufacturing, ingredient sourcing, or consumer packaged goods experience required.
  • Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or CPSM, CPM, CSCP, APICS, or similar certification.
  • Experience with ingredient markets, commodity analysis, and cost modeling.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, Power BI, and procurement analytics tools.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret operational and financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficiency with ERP systems and data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with high standards for data accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across plant and corporate leadership levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence through data and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish reporting structure and discipline
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and respectful collaboration
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
  • Influence decisions through data-driven recommendations.
  • Lead sourcing projects from development through implementation.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.  
  • Ability to move about the facility on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. 
  • Visual and hearing acuity.
