About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Strategic Finance team at Uber Freight. Uber Freight is a fast growing business where you would be responsible for holistic financial support - including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for a key piece of our business - partnering with the leaders of these areas in making strategic decisions that accelerate growth and drive higher margins.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Think strategically and then execute - the models we build aid in decision making and strategy (e.g. using customer profitability to influence capital allocation and strategy shifts) - we operationalize our insights
- Lead a team - supervise a group of financial analysts engaged in monthly forecasting and close, as well as annual budget process for our your assigned area of the business
- Partner across the business - build relationships with senior commercial, operations, and support leaders around the company and collaborate with them to execute our strategy
- Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan - use insights to iterate on forecasts and create action
- Sophisticated financial modeling - build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into components that consolidate - you can do it all
- Help us scale / transition from startup to enterprise - Part of this is maturing our planning processes, part is ensuring finance best practices spread through the organization
- Innovate - we will push the boundaries beyond traditional forecasting. Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics
- 3-5 years in FP&A/StratFin at a large enterprise or startup
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the transportation industry
- Elite Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Working knowledge of enterprise-level financial planning systems
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong attention to detail
- MBA, CFA or CPA
- SQL/PowerBI/Tableau skills

Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more. US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.
Illinois: The salary range for this role is $100,750 to $144,950 a year
