The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection seeks an experienced Sales professional based in Australia to manage our travel partner relationships in Australia and New Zealand.

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Asia Pacific, the Manager, Strategic Accounts – Australia & New Zealand will be responsible for achieving sales and performance goals by successfully developing and executing in-market commercial B2B strategy. Working closely with the Vice President, Asia Pacific in Australia, and Head Office teams, you will set-up, develop, and manage a travel agency portfolio supporting the company’s commercial objectives. This team member will exemplify the motto of The Ritz-Carlton; representative of a best in class, results-oriented, sales professionalism.

POSITION LOCATION: Sydney or Brisbane, Australia

Essential Functions

  • Achieve all sales goals as the in-market brand ambassador for the assigned travel agency regional portfolio.
  • Manage a travel agency portfolio ensuring a high level of consultative selling through effective communication, consistent engagement, and tactical negotiation of annual agreements providing recommendations based on overall cost of sale/total value of account analysis.
  • Establish revenue targets with appropriate agency partners and consistently review revenue productivity and progress toward achieving assigned targets.
  • Consistently foster and maintain collaborative and proactive communication with Marriott GSO and Marriott Luxury Group peers, which drives business and further establishes an ongoing commitment to corporate objectives.
  • Represent The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in various trade shows, conferences, seminars, annual events, ship inspections, and other sales-related functions as appropriate or as requested.
  • Conduct in-person/virtual educational training to targeted travel advisors on product awareness and selling.
  • Support agency partners in identifying group opportunities to develop and secure affinity and promotional group business.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the company to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Leverage marketing, analytics, sales strategies, and operations to drive actions that exceed profitable revenue and sales targets.
  • Use critical thinking with a focus on ROI, to efficiently manage an assigned annual budget provided for the purpose of supporting cooperative marketing plans mutually agreed upon and developed in partnership with agencies in assigned region. Provide a monthly forecast of marketing budget spend and submit all invoices on a timely basis.
  • Upon request, required to provide a detailed annual sales development plan that provides sales territory analysis including requested marketing funds, trade show/conference attendance, anticipated travel & entertainment expenses, sponsorship opportunities, memberships, etc.
  • Participate in onboard events as required as well as plan and host familiarization voyages as required.
  • Maintain database of travel advisors to communicate offers, news, and information in conjunction with marketing.
  • Communicate and measure goals for the Strategic Account Portfolio; continuously driving growth strategies for accounts to meet and exceed targets.
  • Competent in creating and submitting required monthly reports or ad-hoc reports promptly as requested.
  • Provide win-win service resolution for agency issues.

Competency

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background and/or sales experience.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of travel industry preferred or 4 years in a commercial, revenue-generating environment with a client-facing sales or marketing focus. Luxury hotel/cruise experience is beneficial
  • Possess outstanding written & verbal communication skills including dynamic public-speaking skills (webinars/presentations)
  • Results-oriented and strong decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting company objectives
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including competent skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Must commit to delivering high-level of customer service across all departments and organization
  • Willingness to adhere to company policy & procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally, hold a valid passport, driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.

    • Corporate and/or virtual office-based with significant travel
    • Full-time (40-hour work week) subject to scheduled activity including possible evenings and weekend

Calling on unique and distinguished destinations alike, most voyages range from seven to ten nights, offering many overnight calls and uniquely curated experiences ashore. Each yacht will feature 149 suites, each with its own private terrace, and accommodate up to 298 guests in a relaxed, casually elegant atmosphere. As with The Ritz-Carlton® on land, each yacht will feature personalized service, elevated dining and luxury amenities. The yachts are also available for private charter.
