Manager, Specialist Sales, Small and Medium Enterprises Italy
The Sales SME drives commercial success and market penetration of our products and solutions in their market sitting at the intersection of sales, product management, and customer engagement, ensuring that our solutions meet local market needs while aligning with global and regional business objectives.
The Manager, Specialist Sales SME is dedicated to Italian market and drives commercial success and market penetration of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) products and solutions in Italy. Sitting within the SME Specialist Sales team and reporting to the Director, SME Italy, will support Account Managers and Business Development teams in winning SME portfolios, expanding solution adoption, and building compelling, market leading value propositions.
As a Manager, SME Specialist Sales, you are a sale driven professional with strong knowledge of local market dynamics, customer needs, and SME product positioning. You will have demonstrable experience positioning B2B card products as working capital optimisation tools, and a strong understanding of supply chain finance, ideally within wholesale trade or distribution segments. Working closely with regional product teams and market stakeholders, you will develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth and customer engagement in Italy.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve sales and revenue growth targets by driving adoption of SME and B2B card solutions to improve clients' working capital position.
Build and execute go-to-market plans tailored to local SME and corporate customer needs, ensuring regulatory and market alignment.
Actively engage clients and prospects, working alongside Account Managers and Business Development to advance SME and B2B solution opportunities.
Manage the end-to-end sales pipeline with full accountability for acquisition, optimisation, and renewal activities.
Collaborate across Mastercard Sales, Product, Marketing, and Services teams to ensure successful product launches and effective enablement.
Monitor key KPIs to track performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in market execution.
Required Skills
Master's degree in business or engineering (or equivalent experience).
Proven account management and sales experience, ideally across B2B or SME segments.
Expertise in payments, including experience selling or supporting B2B card or supply chain finance solutions.
Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities, with a record of delivering commercial growth.
Experience in corporate banking, trade finance, or consulting preferred.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across complex, matrixed organizations.
Fluent in Italian and English; an additional European language desirable.
