We’re seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a talented team of software engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining AbsenceSoft’s platform. In this role, you’ll combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You’ll drive collaboration across teams, foster innovation, and create an environment where engineers can do their best work while growing in their careers.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.
- Drive agile development practices to ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement.
- Review technical designs, code, and processes to uphold engineering standards and best practices.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Manage team capacity, hiring, and resource planning to meet business needs.
- Participate in a highly compliant environment and help maintain company controls and security within your role.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.
- Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., Java, .NET, cloud platforms, APIs).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance technical detail with project delivery and business priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5–8 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, HR technology, or enterprise software.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- Strategic thinker who empowers teams and fosters cross-functional collaboration.

- Compensation Transparency. Compensation range for this position is $164,561 - $205,702 annually, depending on experience and location.
