Ready to Be a Titan?

At ServiceTitan, we build the operating system for the trades – a comprehensive platform that powers scheduling and dispatch, CRM, payments, financing, reporting, and more for thousands of service businesses across the U.S. and beyond. We apply Machine Learning and AI throughout to automate workflows, surface insights, and help our customers run better businesses. We’re a quality-driven engineering organization working on the cutting edge of the .NET platform – designing systems for scale, solving hard technical problems, and holding a high bar for craft. If that’s the kind of work that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a high-impact Engineering Manager who truly excels as a Player-Coach — a leader who is passionate about guiding a high-performing team while maintaining a deep, active connection to the codebase. You will lead from the front, setting technical standards, solving complex problems, and actively contributing to our services.

What You’ll Do

  • Active Technical Contribution: Dedicate time to hands-on coding, code reviews, and setting implementation patterns, primarily utilizing C#.

  • Architectural Oversight: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of our highly scalable platform, requiring deep working knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and best practices.

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of high-caliber engineers, fostering a strong culture of technical excellence and accountability.

  • Product Impact: Partner closely with Product Management to define the technical roadmap and execute the delivery of high-quality, user-facing features that drive significant business value.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience: 3-5+ years managing software engineering teams, including senior engineers, with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-impact, business-critical initiatives end-to-end.

  • Strong C# Proficiency: Proven expertise with modern C# development, including its ecosystem, performance characteristics, and common frameworks. We are looking for candidates whose current or very recent role involves active, hands-on coding.

  • Microservices Expertise: Extensive, practical experience designing, deploying, and maintaining resilient, distributed, and scalable solutions built on a microservice architecture. This includes knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), service meshes, and inter-service communication protocols.

  • SaaS Experience: Proven track record developing and deploying large-scale, high-availability SaaS applications.

AI Skills & Tooling

We are leaning into the future of AI-assisted development and love to work with engineers who do the same:

  • AI as a Teammate: Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and streamline debugging workflows.

  • Engineering Judgment: Ability to critically evaluate and integrate AI-generated output, applying sound engineering judgment to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.

  • AI Integration: Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) or AI services into production applications.

  • A Growth Mindset: Eagerness to stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and champion best practices for AI-assisted development within the team.

  • Foster an AI-Forward Culture: Actively promote and model the use of AI development tools within your team, creating space for experimentation, sharing wins, and building a team norm where AI-assisted development is part of how great work gets done.

Interview Process

Our process is designed to be a comprehensive assessment of the technical and leadership skills essential for this Player-Coach role. As part of our evaluation, you will be expected to complete live coding sessions in C# or Java.

Be Human With Us:
Being human isn’t about checking every box on a list. It’s about the experiences we have, people we meet, and the perspectives we share. So, if you have the skills but are hesitant to apply because of your background, apply anyway. We need amazing people like you to help us challenge the conventional and think differently about the problems that we’re solving. We’re in this together. Come be human, with us.

Use of AI Technology:

We use technology, including automated and AI-assisted tools, to support certain aspects of our recruitment process. These tools are designed to improve efficiency and enhance the candidate experience. AI tools are not used to make hiring decisions; all hiring decisions are made by our hiring teams.

What We Offer:

When you join our team, you’re not just accepting a job. You’re making a career move. Here’s how we’ll support you in doing some of the most impactful work of your career:

  • Flextime, recognition, and support for autonomous work: Flexible time off with ample learning and development opportunities to continue growing your career. We offer a comprehensive onboarding program, leadership training for Titans at all levels, and other programs and events. Great work is rewarded through Bonusly, peer-nominated awards, and more.
  • Holistic health and wellness benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision (with 100% employer paid options and 90% coverage for dependents), FSA and HSA, 401k match, and telehealth options including memberships to One Medical.
  • Support for Titans at all stages of life: Parental leave and support, up to $20k in fertility services (i.e. IUI and IVF), surrogacy, and adoption reimbursement, on demand maternity support through Maven Maternity, free breast milk shipping through Maven Milk, pet insurance, legal advisory services, financial planning tools, and more.
