We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to lead and develop a high-performing team, combining people and technical leadership with accountability for delivery, quality, and operational excellence. This role partners across functions, manages risks, and drives continuous improvement to achieve reliable business outcomes while maintaining an inclusive team environment.
What You'll Do:
- Build and maintain a high-performing engineering team through coaching, feedback, performance management, and development.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional delivery teams, ensuring effective planning, execution, and collaboration across engineering, product, and other business functions to achieve shared objectives.
- Drive accountability for quality, operational excellence, incident follow-up, and continuous improvement.
- Use metrics, status tracking, and stakeholder communication to provide visibility into team performance and delivery progress.
- Proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and operational challenges.
- Assess current and future workloads and team capacity, aligning resources, staffing, and hiring plans with business priorities.
- Promote engineering standards, scalable solutions, and systems thinking to improve problem solving and organizational effectiveness.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, software delivery, or related technical roles, including leadership of engineers, technical initiatives, or cross-functional delivery efforts.
- Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams in an agile or iterative delivery environment.
- Experience managing software development lifecycles, stakeholder relationships, delivery planning, and operational excellence initiatives preferred.
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, employee development, and team building.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Understanding of software architecture, APIs, distributed systems, operational practices, and software delivery lifecycles.
- Experience using metrics and data to improve delivery effectiveness, quality, and operational performance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable solutions.
