Job Description and Requirements
We’re looking for a dynamic, technically fluent, and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of software engineers. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our product development by mentoring talent, driving architecture decisions, and accelerating adoption of modern technologies, including AI-driven and data-driven development practices.
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and/or architects across multiple product areas
- Drive development of existing applications and new platforms, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven and data-driven capabilities
- Architect and promote API-first, service-oriented systems, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and extensibility
- Provide hands-on technical contribution in software design, coding, and system integration when needed
- Guide adoption of modern data technologies, including NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), and ensure effective data modeling, ingestion, and transformation strategies
- Enable teams to build intelligent, AI-powered features leveraging LLMs and machine learning integrations via APIs
- Allocate and validate engineering resources based on Scrum team needs and business priorities
- Ensure best practices in secure, scalable API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven, and microservices)
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
- Promote domain knowledge sharing and technical excellence across the team
- Provide technical leadership and act as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders
- Represent direct reports in discussions around career growth, assignments, and opportunities
- Stay current with industry trends across AI, distributed systems, and data platforms, ensuring continuous innovation
- Support organizational initiatives, including process improvements, AI adoption, and engineering maturity
- Occasionally participate in Level II technical support after hours, as needed
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Proven ability to hire, lead, and grow high-performing engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience with software development and programming (e.g., Java, Python, or similar)
- Experience designing and building API-based / microservices architectures
- Practical experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and modern data platforms
- Solid understanding of data-driven development, including data modeling, ingestion, and processing pipelines
- Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) and AI-powered APIs into development workflows and products
- Experience with SaaS or enterprise-scale distributed systems
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and reliability principles (SLOs, observability, etc.)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience building AI-powered applications or AI-native features (prompt engineering, RAG, LLM integrations)
- Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms
- Experience with government-facing applications within FedRAMP compliance
- Background in legal tech or eDiscovery
- Exposure to strategic planning and execution at scale
- Passion for building intuitive, data-informed user experiences
Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.
This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.
The expected salary range for this role is between following values:
288 000 and 432 000PLNThe final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
