The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven Manager, Software Engineering to join our Cost Forecasting Service team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Clarivate IPG products.

We would love to speak with you if you are proficient in Java (Spring) and have experience in managing engineering teams!
 

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in developing robust and scalable software solutions
  • 5+ years of experience using Java
  • 2+ years of experience using Cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
  • 2+ years of professional working experience in managing engineering teams
     

It would be great if you also had . . .  

  • Good understanding of basic concepts in Machine Learning and experience with its usage (in AWS or other frameworks)
  • Great knowledge of relational databases, especially Oracle or PostgreSQL
  • Good understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with React or other popular JavaScript frameworks
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Design, or related field
  • Eagerness to develop skills in the fields of architectural patterns and clean code 
  • Agile mindset
     

What will you be doing in this role? 

  • Provide budgetary inputs to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial planning
  • Lead customer solutions by understanding client needs, proposing tailored solutions, and overseeing their implementation
  • Direct design solutions by working closely with design teams to develop innovative and user-centric products
  • Regularly evaluate team performance, assess technical capabilities, provide constructive feedback to colleagues, and escalate issues to leadership when necessary
  • Deliver quarterly roadmaps to align with business goals and objectives
  • Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress
  • Provide primary input and recommendations on staffing decisions for the team
     

Product you will be developing  

The Cost Forecasting Service project is dedicated to predicting future costs with a strong emphasis on Machine Learning and the development of a Rule Engine. By leveraging historical data, the project aims to create a robust model that accurately forecasts future expenses. In addition to utilizing Java, the project integrates advanced Machine Learning techniques and rule-based cost prediction to enhance the precision and reliability of the cost forecasts.
About the team

Join our dynamic and diverse team in an international environment where you will manage a talented group of engineers from Serbia, Austria, and India. As a key leader, you will oversee their projects and collaborate closely to drive innovation and excellence. You will report directly to the Director of Software Engineering, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and contributing to our global success.

Hours of Work  

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone.

This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
