We are looking for a dynamic engineering manager with a passion for building and leading high-performing software engineering teams. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have a proven track record of delivering and supporting scalable and reliable
software systems, web applications and data-driven services. You are equally comfortable leading engineers through complex platform delivery and through production support and continuous improvement, and you partner effectively with product and business stakeholders on roadmap and execution. You will work across front-end and back-end systems, collaborate closely with product and business partners, and lead the team building reliable solutions with strong engineering fundamentals.
Skillset Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
10 years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in hands-on full stack development.
5 years of experience leading engineering teams, with demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and growing talent.
Expertise in AWS Serverless Services, Node.js, React, Terraform, Python.
Hands-on experience with Databricks.
Expertise with AWS and building / operating services in the cloud.
Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
Familiarity with Copilot Studio and Cursor.
Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, API-first development, engineering best practices, and core computer science principles.
Proven ability to deliver high-impact, scalable services.
Preferred: Familiarity with GenAI/LLM applications, MCP, or agentic architectures
Strong written and technical communication skills, with a track record of driving technical best practices in complex environments.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
What You’ll Do
Lead a team of software engineers responsible for design, build, maintaining and supporting web applications and data-driven services. You will lead engineering for scalable front-end and back-end systems for the Resilience, Global Communications, Sensing, Workplace Technology, and Data Engineering and AI functions.
You will lead all aspects of software development, such as ingestion, transformation, and consumption, and drive the design and build of reusable frameworks, automated workflows, and libraries at scale.
Drive productivity and efficiency through AI enabled engineering approaches.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering leaders to define and execute the technical roadmap.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Ensure the team follows best practices in software development, data governance, and platform observability.
Align engineering initiatives with broader organizational goals such as modernization, simplification, cloud cost optimization, and data governance.
Direct engineers leading enterprise sensing programs, including survey design, stakeholder enablement, custom dashboards, NLP/sentiment analysis, and automation workflows that surface actionable employee and consumer insights.
Direct engineers building Nike's internal communications and employee experience platforms, including enterprise AI assistants, MCP-based integrations, corporate search, React/Node.js services on AWS, and Databricks-backed data pipelines.
