The Manager, Security at ScienceLogic is a crucial leadership position dedicated to safeguarding the organization’s digital assets. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and exceptional leadership skills to develop and execute robust cybersecurity strategies. The manager will create a secure environment, oversee cybersecurity operations, and cultivate a culture of security awareness across the organization while ensuring effective communication with customers regarding security policies and initiatives.
What you'll be doing...
- Manage and coach team members, enhancing their technical competencies and career growth through regular performance reviews, clear objective setting, and constructive feedback.
- Review, implement, and refine comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements to safeguard the organization’s information systems.
- Collaborate risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks and prevent security breaches. Regularly review and update risk management strategies.
- Supervise the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cybersecurity systems and software. Ensure all security tools are current and functioning optimally while monitoring system performance and security logs for potential threats.
- Lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to swiftly contain and resolve issues. Conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and maintain an incident response plan, ensuring the team is well-prepared for emergencies. Conduct regular drills and simulations to test response effectiveness and enhance team readiness.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to extract lessons learned and refine future response strategies. Prepare detailed incident reports and effectively communicate findings to senior management, stakeholders, and affected customers.
- Regularly communicate with customers regarding cybersecurity policies, initiatives, and incident responses to ensure transparency and build trust.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for customers to enhance their understanding of security practices and promote a culture of security awareness.
- Establish a feedback mechanism to gather customer insights on security issues and use this information to improve security measures and communication strategies.
Qualities you possess...
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience in a people management role with a successful track record of leading security initiatives and managing high-performing teams. Experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies and procedures is essential.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) required.
- In-depth knowledge of network security, computer forensics, information assurance, and cybersecurity best practices. Proficiency in utilizing security tools and technologies, with an awareness of current and emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a knack for inspiring and motivating team members. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with team members, customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
