About the Role: 

As the Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting you will lead a team of one and will manage the timely and accurate SEC reporting of interim and annual results. In this role, you will also be responsible for researching and applying technical accounting standards under US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. This position will effectively interact with key internal stakeholders including controllership, internal audit, finance, legal, and investor relations as well as the independent auditor. This role reports to the Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Ownership of interim and annual SEC reporting (10-Qs/10-K) in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations in a SOX environment
  • Prepare and review various other SEC reports such as 8-K, DEF 14A, S-1, S-3
  • Assist in the evaluation and documentation of complex accounting transactions
  • Support investor relations with earnings script and investor presentations preparation / review
  • Prepare/Review all accounting calculations, journal entries and external disclosures for stock-based compensation
  • Advise management of trends and changes in reporting requirements, peers, competitors, and industry trends
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyze emerging accounting and reporting standards from the FASB, EITF, SEC and other standard setters
  • Prepare/Review and present accounting research positions that support company objectives while complying with US GAAP requirements
  • Review and manage hedge accounting entries and related disclosures
  • Develop accounting policies and internal controls, as necessary, depending on changes in accounting standards and changes in the business
  • Provide training to accounting, finance, and business teams on new and existing accounting standards
  • Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned 

About You:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with active CPA license
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with time spent within public accounting and consumer industries preferred
  • Technical accounting expertise in SEC reporting requirements, US GAAP, and SOX is required
  • Experience with stock-based compensation is preferred
  • Strong technical research skills and ability to provide practical solutions to implementing new accounting guidance
  • Meticulous attention to detail as a first level reviewer is critical to be successful in this role
  • Experience with Workiva and Netsuite is beneficial
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills and ability to work with complex models
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a flexible, fast-paced work environment under time sensitive goals, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Occasional travel may be required

Our Total Rewards: 

The annual base pay for this position is $114,750 - $155,250 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
