ABOUT ECI SOLUTIONS

ECI Solutions builds cloud-based business management and ERP software for small and mid-sized companies in manufacturing, distribution, building and construction, and field service. Our Business Systems organisation runs the Salesforce platform that our global sales, revenue and customer support teams depend on every day — a single connected org that sits at the centre of our quote-to-cash and customer-support operations and integrates with our ERP, billing, CPQ, data, and telephony systems.

THE ROLE

We are hiring a hands-on Manager, Salesforce Development to run ECI’s Salesforce engineering team in India. This is a player-coach role: roughly 50–60% of your time is spent designing and writing code, and the remainder is spent leading people, setting technical standards, reviewing work, and partnering with stakeholders in the US and Europe.

You will own the technical quality of everything the team ships across Service Cloud and Sales/Revenue Cloud, including the integrations that connect Salesforce to our ERP, billing, and support systems, and the Agentforce and Data Cloud capabilities we are rolling out across service and revenue operations.

This role suits an engineer who is still energised by solving hard platform problems but has grown past wanting to be the only person who can solve them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Own the technical design of Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud, balancing declarative configuration against custom code and documenting the reasoning behind each choice.

  • Set and enforce coding standards, design patterns, naming conventions, test-coverage expectations, and a definition of done for the team.

  • Run code reviews as a teaching exercise, not a gate — raise the team’s ceiling, not just the pull request’s.

  • Guard against technical debt: governor limit risk, hard-coded IDs, uncontrolled triggers, duplicated automation, and sprawling unmanaged Flows.

  • Partner with architects and the US platform team on org strategy, release planning, and Salesforce release readiness (three major releases per year).

Hands-on Delivery

  • Write and review production Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Flow, and integration code for the most complex and highest-risk work on the backlog.

  • Design and build integrations between Salesforce and ERP, billing, CPQ, data warehouse, and telephony platforms using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and middleware such as MuleSoft.

  • Lead the build-out of Agentforce agents, Prompt Builder templates, and Data Cloud grounding for internal service and revenue use cases, including the guardrails, testing and monitoring that make them safe to deploy.

  • Troubleshoot production incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes rather than repeat workarounds.

People and Delivery Management

  • Line-manage a team of developers and admins: goal setting, one-to-ones, performance reviews, growth plans, and certification paths.

  • Plan and sequence sprint work with product owners and business stakeholders; protect the team from thrash and make trade-offs visible early.

  • Onboard and mentor junior developers, giving them real work with a safety net.

  • Interview and help hire additional developers as the India team grows.

DevOps and Governance

  • Own the release process end to end: source control branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline, sandbox seeding, regression testing, and deployment.

  • Maintain environment strategy and data management practices, including sandbox refresh planning and data masking for non-production orgs.

  • Ensure solutions meet security, access control, audit, and data-privacy requirements, and participate in security and compliance reviews.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 9–14+ years in software engineering, with at least 6 years building on the Salesforce platform and at least 2 years leading or formally mentoring a development team.

  • Apex and LWC: Expert-level Apex (asynchronous patterns, batch, queueable, trigger frameworks, bulkification, governor limits) and Lightning Web Components with modern JavaScript.

  • Breadth across clouds: Production experience in both Service Cloud and Sales Cloud; working knowledge of CPQ or Revenue Cloud quote-to-cash processes.

  • Integration: Proven experience integrating Salesforce with ERP or financial systems — REST/SOAP, authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, JWT, Named Credentials), error handling, retry and reconciliation design.

  • Data model design: Ability to design a scalable Salesforce data model and reason about sharing, visibility and large data volumes.

  • DevOps: Git-based source control, Salesforce DX, and a CI/CD toolchain (Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions).

  • Testing: Disciplined about unit testing, test data factories, and meaningful assertions — not coverage padding.

  • Communication: Able to explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical business stakeholder in writing, in English, without losing them or oversimplifying.

  • Availability: Able to work on-site and to overlap with US-based stakeholders for part of the day.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder, Agent Builder, or Data Cloud in a production setting.

  • Experience in an internal IT or business systems function, supporting a single large org rather than multiple client projects.

  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or comparable enterprise middleware experience.

  • Familiarity with MuleSoft IDP and Fabric a plus.

  • Experience with Salesforce Field Service, Experience Cloud, or Marketing Cloud Account Engagement.

  • Exposure to an ERP platform (SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or a vertical ERP) and to order-to-cash processes.

  • Experience migrating from Salesforce CPQ to Revenue Cloud Advanced.

  • Background in a SaaS or software company.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I.

  • Strongly preferred: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II.

  • Valued: Application Architect, Integration Architect, Service Cloud Consultant, Sales Cloud Consultant, Revenue Cloud Consultant, Agentforce Specialist, or JavaScript Developer I.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • By 60 days: You know the org, its automation, its integrations, and its sore spots; you have shipped production code; you have met every stakeholder who files work with the team.

  • By 6 months: Coding standards and a review process are in place and used; release cadence is predictable; each team member has a written growth plan; the top two or three sources of recurring production issues have been permanently fixed.

  • By 12 months: The team ships significant features without escalation, technical debt is measurably lower, Agentforce capabilities are live and monitored, and at least one team member has stepped up to lead work independently.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A single, high-impact internal Salesforce org — you will see the business result of what you ship, not just a ticket closing.

  • Real investment in Agentforce, Data Cloud and AI-assisted automation, with budget and executive sponsorship behind it.

  • Funded Salesforce certifications, Trailhead time, and a defined technical career path.

  • Health insurance, provident fund, and leave policy per ECI India policy.

ECI Solutions is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, caste, age, disability, marital status, or any other protected characteristic.
