Giatec Scientific Inc. is looking for a Manager, Sales to join our North American SmartRock Sales team, reporting to the Global Director, SmartRock. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team of Account Executives and/or Enterprise Account Managers, driving both net-new client acquisition and expansion of our existing book of business. The role will lead our North America sales function to generate significant revenue and new-client growth, from winning new business to deepening our footprint with current customers. Simply put, we are looking for someone to lead a team of sales professionals to win new business and grow our existing accounts.

We prefer the successful candidate for this hybrid role be located in the Ottawa area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives and/or Enterprise Account Managers responsible for net-new client acquisition and expansion of the current book of business.
  • Own team performance against targets, including new-client acquisition, annual book expansion, and churn goals.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our customers' pains, our products and solutions, and how to effectively communicate our value.
  • Ensure achievement of all performance objectives, including pipeline coverage and revenue goals, using Salesforce and Gong to monitor pipeline health and deal risk.
  • Run regular 1-on-1s and team meetings centered on pipeline coverage, top-account progress, and KPI/skill development.
  • Create, implement, and monitor sales activities, analyze results, identify gaps, and implement solutions to address issues or concerns, while improving sales training and customer segmentation.
  • In partnership with the Global Director of Sales, identify opportunities for new market penetration, customer expansion, and prospecting methods.
  • Ability to carry out presentations and demonstrations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to execute public speaking engagements at events as needed.
  • Travel to attend trade shows as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A proven track record of sales leadership, ideally including experience with concrete producers, concrete, and/or construction.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2 of which spent in management/leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English. Additional languages are an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
  • Ability to thrive in environments where change is constant, fast-paced, and often with strict deadlines.
  • "Growth hacker" or creative, results-oriented mindset with the ability to get stuff done.
  • Honest, caring, and candid communication style to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Humility, a willingness to share the credit and receive / consider new ideas from others.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen ideally with comprehensive industry knowledge in Construction and/or Concrete.
  • Experience with our tech stack (or similar): Salesforce, Apollo.io, Gong, LinkedIn, and MS Office among others.
