The RHC Services Manager ensures Healthcare Specialists are trained on equipment setup policies and protocols and clinical services as defined by the accrediting bodies and Company documentation standards. Equipment may include highly technical equipment such as ventilators, apnea monitors, and CPAP/Bi-level units.
- Ensures employee compliance with Lincare policies, procedures, protocols, and accreditation standards
- Makes certain that patient education is an intricate part of the patient care activity and is performed in accordance with the patient needs and Lincare's policy
- Ensures that complete and professional patient assessments are performed in accordance with Lincare's policies and procedures and pursuant to prescriber instructions
- Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
- Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
- Ensures the maintenance of patient records in complete and organized manner and in compliance with accreditation standards
- Maintains department expenses within limits as determined by supervisor
- Participates in in additional activities as requested by management
- Maintains knowledge of the respiratory market and assists with technical support for staff
- Provides updated information to supervisor in a timely manner
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (i.e. DOT, OSHA, DEA, EEO), as well as internal Lincare policies and procedures
- May perform equipment setups as needed in accordance with Lincare policy, but does not act as a replacement for center staff either permanently or on a temporary basis
- Maintains ongoing quality improvement programs as directed by Lincare's policies and procedures
- Assists with clinical internal investigations related to alleged or perceived improprieties or policy/regulatory violations
- Performs site visits and chart audits in assigned territory
- Target is to visit each location twice in a rolling 12-month period
- Determines the root cause of identified deficiencies, creates and monitors corrective action plans
- Participates in outside inspections by licensing agencies or accrediting bodies in person when feasible or otherwise by phone/video
- Assists the SHCM and NHCM in creating corrective actions when necessary and responding to identified deficiencies
- Assists the clinical and compliance departments with investigations
- Submits monthly reports that include trends identified during site visits
- Participates in regional quality improvement meetings
Work Experience
- Minimum of five years in home healthcare, Required
- Must be a clinician authorized within scope of practice (as established by applicable state law or if none, by the applicable national board)
- CRT, RT, RN, Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have excellent human relations to interface with prescribers, patients, and employees to provide advice and direction
- Must be computer literate
Licenses and Certifications
- Must remain certified, registered, or licensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice or as otherwise permitted by law, Required
- In all states, CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position, Required
- Subject to state law/regulation, other clinicians may also be qualified for this position, Required
- If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to a valid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for CRTs and RRTs, Required
Skills Required
