Summary Generated by Built In

This position will involve leading and supporting the delivery of Kroll’s Fund Solutions and Restructuring services from the U.S., with exposure to cross-border mandates. You will work on live situations throughout the fund life cycle, helping clients understand their options and implement practical solutions where portfolios are illiquid, underperforming, approaching the end of their term or otherwise require active intervention.

The role combines rigorous financial and commercial analysis with hands-on execution. Depending on the assignment, this may include assessing fund and portfolio performance, preparing options and investment papers, supporting a fund management transition, overseeing asset realizations or a wind down, strengthening stakeholder reporting, or coordinating an implementation process involving legal advisers, administrators, auditors, asset managers and other service providers.

We are recruiting flexibly at Manager or Senior Manager level. The appropriate level will reflect the candidate’s relevant experience, ability to lead mandates and teams, client-handling capability and commercial contribution.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Engagement delivery. Lead defined workstreams and, at Senior Manager level, significant assignments or multiple workstreams. Establish priorities, maintain momentum and deliver high quality work against agreed scope, timing and budget.

  • Analysis and advice. Analyze fund structures, portfolio performance, valuations, liquidity, cash flows and stakeholder positions. Identify the issues that materially affect value, control, timing and execution, and translate the analysis into clear recommendations.

  • Fund solutions execution. Support or lead manager replacement and transition mandates, solvent and insolvent fund wind downs, asset realizations, liquidity and governance work, investment reporting and other special situation assignments involving U.S. investment funds.

  • Client materials. Prepare and review concise decision-ready materials, including options papers, investment and portfolio reports, board and investor materials, financial analyses, proposals and implementation plans.

  • Stakeholder management. Build trusted relationships with fund managers, investors, boards, creditors, financial sponsors, management teams, U.S. legal advisers, registered office and fiduciary providers, administrators, auditors, asset agents, regulators and other service providers. Communicate clearly on complex or sensitive matters.

  • Project and risk management. Manage competing priorities, identify risks and dependencies early, resolve execution issues where possible and escalate material matters with a practical recommendation.

  • Engagement economics. Support the management of scope, work in progress, budgets, billing and profitability. Senior Managers will take broader responsibility for engagement economics and resourcing.

  • Team leadership. Direct, coach and review the work of junior colleagues. Provide clear briefs, proportionate oversight and constructive feedback, and support their development.

  • Business development. Contribute to the growth of the Fund Solutions and Restructuring business across the U.S. and international markets through market research, opportunity assessment, proposals, pitches, credentials and the development of client and intermediary relationships.

  • Collaboration. Work closely with Kroll colleagues across Restructuring and other service lines, as well as U.S. legal, fiduciary, audit, administration and regulatory professionals, bringing together the right expertise for each mandate and supporting cross-border delivery.

Essential Traits:

  • 5+ years of experience, including experience relevant to U.S. investment funds, although the relevance, quality and depth of experience will be more important than tenure alone.

  • Experience in U.S. fund advisory, restructuring, private equity or private credit, investment or portfolio management, transaction services, corporate finance, insolvency, fiduciary services or another relevant financial discipline.

  • Demonstrable experience analyzing complex financial and operational information, including performance, valuation, liquidity or cash flow information, and presenting clear conclusions to senior audiences.

  • A track record of managing workstreams, deadlines and junior colleagues. Senior Manager candidates should also demonstrate independent engagement and client leadership.

  • A relevant accounting, insolvency or investment qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, JIEB or CFA, is preferred but is not essential where supported by strong relevant experience. U.S. regulatory, insolvency or investment-fund experience would be advantageous.

  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, strong written drafting skills and confidence communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders across the Cayman Islands and international markets.

What will make you successful

  • Commercial judgement and the ability to distinguish the decisive issue from background complexity.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, supported by careful attention to detail.

  • Clear, concise and credible communication, with the confidence to challenge constructively and make a recommendation.

  • Ownership, sound organization and an ability to manage several fast-moving assignments without losing control of detail or deadlines.

  • An ability to assess and manage risk, work through ambiguity and remain effective in challenging situations.

  • A collaborative, low ego approach, combined with the willingness to take responsibility and drive matters forward.

  • Genuine interest in helping to build a growing specialist practice, including its delivery capability, market profile and client relationships.

Your recruiter will be happy to walk you through your U.S.-specific benefits, which include:

  • Healthcare Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Time Off and Leave Policies: Generous paid time off (PTO), paid company holidays, generous parental and family leave.
  • Protective Insurances: Life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and accident protection.
  • Compensation and Rewards: Competitive salary structures, performance-based incentives, and merit-based compensation reviews.
  • Retirement Plans: 401(k) plans with company matching.
