As a Manager Reservoir Engineering Sr. at an upstream gas company, you will oversee the identification, evaluation, and recovery of gas reserves. You will lead a team to optimize reservoir performance, including making recommendations and planning for asset exploration and development, and working with operating teams to enhance production on existing assets. You will track and report reserves at least annually, ensuring accurate data for the budget process. You will collaborate with other departments to integrate their input into project planning and execution. Additionally, you will mentor engineers and manage project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Leads and manages a team of reservoir engineers and geologists/geoscientists in efforts to develop assets, justifying approximately $175MM annual capital spend
  • Makes recommendations and plans for asset exploration and development, working with operating teams to enhance production on existing assets
  • Seeks and evaluates new horizons and opportunities to add inventory within the asset area
  • Provides strategic direction and solutions to develop new reserves by evaluating asset performance, while ensuring fiscal responsibility through accurate annual tracking and reporting of reserves for the budget process.
  • Maintains and coordinates development schedules, evaluating impacts on existing facilities and production teams
  • Ensures reservoir management practices align with the company's strategic goals, driving improvements in recovery factors, production optimization, and economic viability of new projects
  • Trains, mentors, and develops members of the cross-functional team, ensuring technical quality of work and adherence to company policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or a related field; a minimum of ten (10) years within the exploration and production business and at least three (3) years of leadership experience
  • Preferred: M.S. or MBA preferred in Petroleum Engineering or related field and fourteen (14) years withing the exploration and production business and leadership experience combined

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ensuring high technical quality and coaching managers and senior staff
  • Provides strategic direction for asset development and reserves growth, leveraging expertise in performance evaluation and capital allocation
  • Integrates geoscience and engineering insights into strategic planning and execution
  • Optimizes reservoir performance using advanced simulation software and techniques
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication
  • Corporate Reserves preparation and reporting experience
