Purpose of Job:
Lead and coach the Business Development Managers and other specialist sales professionals within their assigned region to help them meet or exceed their assigned goals.
Job Components:
- Deliver incremental unit growth results within their region through leading and coaching team members to target high quality/high volume opportunities within the traditional ILD, Regional Account, WD/Jobber, and Non-mandated customer market segments.
- Actively engage all assigned distributors to promote sales growth in all available channels while modeling sales Center of Excellence best practices and procedures.
- Establishes individual and team goals by creating a quota that feeds into the overall Commercial group objectives.
- Hire, coach, train, develop, and terminate sales team member as required.
- Consistently models Interstate Batteries and sales team visions
- Serve as primary contributor and sales SME to all Commercial functions such as marketing, pricing, communications, Distributor Development, IOT, etc.
- Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, planning and reviewing compensation actions, upholding Interstate’s purpose and values
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
- 4+ years B2B/Commercial sales experience required
- Top performer, award winner
- Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service and business development skills
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple opportunities
- Salesforce.com or other CRM experience
- Competent in the Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work and travel independently on a sustained basis
- Self-motivated
- Acceptable driving record
Scope Data:
- Expense reporting and credit card reconciliation
- Strong interface with Distributors, Business Consultants, RSMs and dealer base
- Maintain, generate, and facilitate all travel requirements
Work Environment:
- Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Frequent travel to markets – driving and air.
