Job Description
Manager, Quality Control
We are looking for a strong people manager
Purpose of the role
As Manager of Quality Control, you lead a critical team at the heart of our manufacturing process: the in-process control laboratory. You are the driving force behind rebuilding focus, ownership, and performance within the team. You are a visible and approachable presence on the lab floor—someone who leads from the front, sets clear expectations, and isn’t afraid to hold people accountable. With your strong people management skills, you coach, develop, and motivate your team, while also providing clear direction and structure when needed. You raise the bar and ensure standards are met.
Together with your team, you deliver reliable and timely analytical results that are essential for production continuity and product quality. You work closely with Manufacturing, acting as a strong and trusted partner in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. You bring clarity in complexity, make decisions with confidence, and ensure the team stays aligned and focused. Under your leadership, the lab operates with discipline, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of lab analysts and specialists, ensuring high engagement, performance, and development
- Ensure timely execution of in-process testing, directly supporting manufacturing operations
- Act as first point of contact for operational issues, making quick and well-founded decisions
- Maintain strong GMP compliance, safety (SHE), and quality standards
- Monitor lab performance, resolving deviations (e.g., OOS), and drive root cause problem solving
- Balance priorities effectively in a fast-paced production environment
- Build a strong team culture, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Act as a key stakeholder between QC and Manufacturing leadership
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, efficiency, simplification)
Your profile:
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, (Bio)Chemistry, or Microbiology
- Proven experience with people management within a laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated setting
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate confidently at both shop floor and senior management level
- The ability to perform under pressure and act decisively when priorities shift
- A strong personality: you take ownership, make decisions, and stand your ground when needed
- Excellent soft skills: you build trust, develop people, and foster a strong team spirit
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- The ability to create structure and bring calm to a dynamic, high-pressure environment while keeping your team motivated and aligned
