POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager Quality Control is responsible to the Chief Inspector for quality oversight including regulatory compliance related to aircraft production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to lead and manage the hangar assigned Quality Control Lead Inspectors and Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Responsible for the efficient scheduling and use of resources.
  • Promotes teamwork and uses a collaborative approach; supporting business partners as needed and when needed.
  • Strategize, plan, and execute joint plans and decisions with business partners for the collective success of the customers and EAMS.
  • Responsible to maintain situational awareness of all projects assigned; be aware of aircraft status, job status, parts status, and overall progress of project plan.
  • Ensure quality control inspection requirements are met, including assigned auditing, analysis, and surveillance of the job activities in the hangar.
  • Aware of all critical inspections' status; helps establish priorities for inspection tasks and witnesses critical inspections as needed to develop a quality assessment of the project and/or aircraft check.
  • Responsible to initiate aircraft delivery recovery plans when needed by assessing production flow issues, determining corrective action plans, and mobilizing resources to restore the timeliness of the production plan.
  • Provides supporting information to Hangar Operations Management with regards to the work status of the aircraft, when requested.
  • Maintains a safe and compliant operational environment; ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, customer requirements, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintains staffing levels and identifies training requirements based on the needs assessment of assigned personnel and projects.
  • Enforces policy and procedures to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible to be a visible “go to” resource in the workplace.
  • Conducts one-on-one counseling, coaching, and mentoring as needed.
  • Communicates openly and honestly with all employees and maintains an open flow of information at all times.
  • Participates in Customer meetings -providing updates and advising customer of changes in the delivery plan and next steps.
  • Maintain reports, tracking sheets, attendance rosters, and any other production and or support tracking systems as needed.
  • Performs audits (sampling) of completed customer records for regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains quality standards and procedures in the hangar work areas at all times.
  • Represents EAMS at all times with customers and auditing agencies and all outside visitors, maintaining professional demeanor and upholding EAMS standards of conduct.
  • Contributes with rectification and the answering of CARs and related non-conformity reports assigned to the Quality Control personnel assigned to the hangars.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A&P certificate required
  • Some college and/or a degree in an aviation discipline preferred

Experience:

  • Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in quality management.
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Team building experience

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work under demanding conditions and exhibit leadership and control at all times
  • Ability to work flexible hours, different shifts and days off as required.
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
