Role Summary: 

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Quality & Automation team at Talabat. This is a highly hands-on technical leadership role, where you will spend a significant portion of your time designing, implementing, and unblocking the toughest quality challenges.

You will build the automation frameworks, release systems, and observability tools that empower product squads to deliver faster and safer. Your mission is to establish world-class mobile quality practices at Talabat by embedding quality earlier in the delivery pipeline, coaching engineers and leaders, and ensuring reliable releases.

While you will manage and mentor a talented group of QA Engineers, your primary impact will come from technical execution, direct collaboration, and shaping org-wide quality standards.

• Define and drive the quality strategy at Talabat, balancing automation, manual testing, observability, and governance.

• Act as the owner of quality, our frameworks, release processes, and observability dashboards.

• Build and continuously evolve systems that improve release stability, automation coverage, and critical-path test health.

• Work closely with engineering leaders and Staff+ engineers to align on a shared vision for quality across the organization.

• Partner with DevOps, DevX, and cross-functional peers to eliminate friction in testing and release pipelines.

• Introduce and scale a Quality Coaching Playbook across squads, embedding a shift-left mindset and clear ownership of quality.

• Serve as talabat’s quality ambassador, influencing org-wide standards on testing strategy, release readiness, triage expectations, and quality metrics.

• Mentor and grow a team of QA Automation Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and psychological safety.

• Define and track core KPIs such as flaky test rate, regression escape rate, release lead time, and App related metrics.

• 5+ years in QA / test automation / quality engineering, with a deep knowledge of end-to-end testing for mobile apps, including the backend.
   
• 2+ years of engineering management experience, ideally leading enablement or platform teams.
   
• Strong hands-on background with mobile, API, and contract test automation frameworks.
   
• Proven experience in release management for mobile apps.
   
• Track record of coaching engineers and scaling quality best practices across teams.
   
• Familiarity with observability, flaky test management, and CI/CD for mobile pipelines.
   
• Has driven shift-left quality initiatives or built testing platforms adopted org-wide.
