We are seeking a hands-on and result-driven Purchase Manager with strong experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. The role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, material planning, supplier management, and inventory control to ensure uninterrupted production and cost optimisation.
1. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Management
- Manage complete procurement lifecycle: PR → RFQ → PO → GRN → Invoice → Payment.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Monitor and control procurement spend and payment cycles.
- Drive material planning based on MRP outputs and production schedules.
- Analyse and act on MRP exception messages (shortages, excess, reschedules).
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid line stoppages.
- Develop and govern purchase plans aligned with production and business forecasts.
- Track procurement KPIs like OTD (On-Time Delivery), lead time, and cost savings.
- Ensure adherence to approved BOM and procurement budgets.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop global and local suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Lead price negotiations, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Ensure strong vendor relationships and risk diversification.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance working capital and production needs.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Improve inventory turns and reduce carrying costs.
- Manage procurement of:
- Electronic components (PCBs, semiconductors, passives)
- Cables and connectors
- Electrical & Electromechanical parts
- Mechanical components
- Electronic components (PCBs, semiconductors, passives)
- Handle both import and domestic sourcing, including logistics coordination.
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 procurement associates.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and drive capability development.
- Ensure high team productivity and accountability.
- Drive automation initiatives in procurement (ERP, P2P tools, dashboards).
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Implement best practices for procurement efficiency and transparency.
- Identify supply chain risks (single sourcing, long lead items, geopolitical risks).
- Develop mitigation strategies such as alternate sourcing, buffer stock, and supplier diversification.
- Ensure continuity of supply in volatile market conditions.
- Strong knowledge of the EMS supply chain and electronic components sourcing
- Expertise in MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
- Understanding of global sourcing and import regulations
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical) or Supply Chain
- 12–16years of experience in procurement within EMS/electronics manufacturing
- Proven experience in handling end-to-end procurement and supplier management
- Experience in managing teams and driving procurement KPIs
- Zero/Minimal production line stoppages due to material shortages
- Inventory turnover ratio improvement
- Cost savings / PPV (Purchase Price Variance)
- Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Reduction in excess and obsolete inventory
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical) or Supply Chain
- 12-16 years of procurement experience within EMS/electronics manufacturing
- Proven experience handling end-to-end procurement (PR->RFQ->PO->GRN->Invoice->Payment) and supplier management
- Experience managing teams and driving procurement KPIs
- Expertise in MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of EMS supply chain and electronic components sourcing (PCBs, semiconductors, passives, connectors)
