Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.
 
We are currently seeking a Manager, PR to join our Public Relations team based in our New York, New York office.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to planning and development of campaign strategies 
  • Manage and coordinate communication with series cast and cast reps on campaign beats, key dates, interview requests, etc. 
  • Oversee delivery of all assets for press appearances   
  • Draft and gather written press materials, including releases, tune-in alerts, show descriptions, bios 
  • Develop and foster relationships with media, pitch assigned media and follow up to secure coverage  
  • Coordinate publicity appearances and interviews with talent and producers 
  • Assist in coordinating set visits; staff as needed 
  • Assist in arranging and staffing talent interviews 
  • Organize asset calendars and coordinate asset rollout with other key departments 
  • Select and pull series clips for media placement

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in PR or Communications 
  • 5+ years working in communications or public relations, ideally in the television/entertainment space 
  • Extensive television/film background and knowledge of the entertainment industry 
  • Strong understanding of traditional media and knowledge of key members of the press 
  • Ability to interface effectively with senior executives and staff at all levels 
  • General understanding of entertainment industry and celebrities, influencers, etc. 
  • Strategic thinking with creative problem-solving skills 
  • Strong managerial skills; ability to delegate and motivate non-direct reports 
  • Collaborative leadership style across departments and functions 
  • Strong understanding, knowledge of and experience with non-traditional, direct-to-consumer outreach 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines 
  • Self-starter, who is highly organized and a clear communicator with a strong competitive drive 
  • Ability to develop working relationships with professionals in the TV and film industry 

The base compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 commensurate with experience. AMC Networks additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Services, among other benefit plan options, subject to eligibility requirements.
