This position will be located on site in Woodland Hills, California and will support the Sentinel-NIMS program for the Navigation and Cockpit Systems (NCS) Business Unit (BU).
What you will get to do:
The NIMS Deployment Lead will oversee the process of the NIMS integrated system across various hardware configuration life cycles, from build to integration and delivery of the system. This effort will require planning and coordinating the entire deployment process from NIMS system configuration requirements validation through integration testing, through hardware release in its full sell-off compliance. This effort will require technical oversight of the integrated team to understand and oversee deployment criteria, coordinate across multi-function teams responsible for subsystem component deliveries and manufacturing and release. The deployment lead will provide oversight to the portfolio teams while completing tasks alongside team members during peak times in aligning with schedule milestones. The candidate will manage NIMS configuration items and test hardware utilization roadmaps, to allow full extent possible of shared hardware resources and maintain the program execution pacing. The candidate will also track delivery compliance of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate cross-team hardware deployment activities, including integration testing, validation/verification of system requirements, and support to program test events and sell-off.
- Plan and manage hardware configuration, release sequencing, and required deployment equipment (e.g., containers, materials, transportation) in partnership with engineering and global supply chain.
- Serve as a central point of contact with the Program Manager Lead, IPTs, and stakeholders to communicate status, issues, and risks; navigate customer negotiations; and ensure alignment to contract scope and sell-off requirements.
- Monitor, measure, and report program performance using EVMS and other control tools; support financial forecasts, EACs, headcount reviews, and cost/schedule/material execution in coordination with CAMs and functionals.
- Develop and maintain master plans and schedules, manage program resources to support hardware releases, and prepare and deliver briefings to leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
The candidate will report to the Program Manager IPT Lead and provide support for the successful execution of the team. A successful deployment lead has good leadership skills, can work independently, makes decisions that support program accomplishments, and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams. A successful deployment lead will consistently bring up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor and accountability to achieve the timely release of hardware deliveries and deployments.
