Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Program Planning 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Plymouth, MN and will support the Armament Systems business unit. This is an on-site position.

What You’ll Get To Do:
Management and execution responsibilities for Program Planning and Scheduling team - a team of planning and scheduling analysts with responsibilities for developing Integrated Master Schedules, schedule metrics, change management, Work Breakdown Structures and schedule visualizations for the Armament Systems business. As a leader, you will develop, maintain and update procedures schedule management specific to the business unit.
- Develop and lead an organization of Program Planning and Scheduling Analysts to meet program schedule objectives
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training for Program Planning and scheduling team
- Identify, allocate and manage resources including workforce planning
- Support Corporate and Sector initiatives in standardization of training, metrics and reporting
- Interface with customer leadership on contract execution
- Collaborate with Business Management and Program leadership on the cost/schedule integration and generation of reliable Earned Value and Schedule performance data
- Function as a change agent, creating an environment of trust, compliance, continuous improvement, and learning
- Manage multiple priorities against ambitious timelines
- Provide a strategic vision for the organization
- Ensure full compliance with corporate policies
- Advise Program Mangers, Control Account Managers and engineering teams on best practices, compliance and Earned Value guidelines
- Support program start-up reviews and other independent reviews as a subject matter expert
- Perform in a fast paced, frequently changing, and demand driven environment
- Problem solving and decision making requiring excellent communication skills
- Develop, mentor and train integration personnel and provide regular performance feedback

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience; master's degree and 8 years of experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated track record and experience in program planning and scheduling and program execution
- Knowledge of EVMS as applied on major government contracts
- At least 2 years of management/leadership experience with either direct reports or cross functional teams
- Ability to travel as needed (10% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in program planning and scheduling tools (Deltek Open Plan, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project)
- Experience with analysis and visualization tools (Acumen Fuse, SSI tool, Kidasa Milestones, Milestones Professional)
- Experience developing program metrics and driving actions to close
- Experience leading a dispersed team in different geographical locations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Skills Required
