Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Manager, Production, you lead the production team and all its associated responsibilities at our local manufacturing facility, driving the continuous improvement of our production processes to ensure we achieve planned output, meet scheduled delivery and designed quality while controlling and optimizing production costs. You are responsible for building and mentoring a strong team of skilled manufacturing leaders while demonstrating, coaching and fostering behaviors that are aligned with Arc’teryx culture and values.
Meet Your Future Team:
You will work with and lead a dedicated team of Production Supervisors and skilled professionals as well as collaborate with other key departments such as Engineering, Quality and Planning.
If you were the Manager, Production now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- In collaboration with the Supply Planning team, you are responsible for providing critical production related inputs and feedback to achieve alignment with Supply Planning on capacity plan on all product lines as well as delivery dates
- You establish structure and process and proactively remove barriers to ensure all raw materials are cut, prepared and delivered uninterrupted to the Production Lines in time
- You lead, mentor, coach and develop a team of high performing frontline leadership team by establishing appropriate level of accountability, structure and processes in order to drive the necessary behaviors to deliver results
- You develop and implement the necessary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure all critical activities related to Production performance. You track and communicate performance KPIs on a regular basis to drive on time delivery of first quality products
- You align with the Quality team on brand and product quality expectations and mentor and coach the right behaviors in production team to uphold quality standards
- You collaborate with Engineering on process mapping, line balance, factory layout and floor plans, new machine/technology immersion and process stability to improve productivity. You are expected to provide constructive feedback on NPI and new technology/machines
- You collaborate with Maintenance Team to develop and implement layered Preventive Maintenance Plans for machines, equipment and tooling/dies, track downtime and cost
- You align with Training and Talent Acquisition teams to develop effective workforce plans to ensure expected workforce capacity is available or adjusted with alignment from stakeholders
- You lead production supervisors and Training Team to develop and update Skill Matrix, and to develop and implement up skill training plans in priorities
- In collaboration with Supervisors and the People and Culture team, you foster and maintain a high performing and engaged workforce by developing, coaching and empowering employees. You develop and implement performance evaluation system and internal celebration programs
- You prioritize employee engagement and proactively identify ways to improve employee relations
- You align with CI and PMO Team to champion the culture and responsibility of 6S and continuous improvement, and to make sure the assigned tasks and timelines are met for projects
- You ensure production related data in our internal systems are accurate and updated on time, providing clear visibility and interactive functions to enable accurate reporting and planning in relation to delivery, quality, planning and performance management
- You prepare and communicate production status updates to key internal and external collaborators on regular base of daily, weekly and monthly to get aligned about focuses, priorities and projections
- You support with other special projects as assigned

Are you our next Manager, Production?
- You have a Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Operations/Manufacturing Management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have 10+ years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role
- You are able to set a clear vision in support of the company vision, put plans together to deliver the vision, and communicate and align your team on the common vision and objective for optimal execution.
- You have a proven track record in change management including ability to manage diverse personalities, cultures and behaviors.
- You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor, lead and develop the team.
- You have experience with LEAN or modular manufacturing
- You have strong experience with Quality process in manufacturing environment.
- You have strong computer skills as required for day to day activities at the factory and in collaboration with various teams in Operations.
- You have good communication skills both verbally and in written,
- You are result driven, proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

Assets
- You have knowledge of apparel production systems as well as ERP/MRP systems
- You have formal LEAN training or modular production management experience
