The Role
It’s an amazing time to be joining Netflix as we continue to transform entertainment globally. In Indonesia, Netflix is headquartered in Jakarta. The Production Finance team at Netflix is responsible for estimating and managing the production costs throughout the lifecycle of each production and provides insight and analytics to inform decision-making. The team understands the operations of a production and guides each project through its financial workflows required for a successful launch on the service.
We're looking for a Manager to join Netflix's Production Finance team in Indonesia, working closely with the Production Manager Lead and cross-functional partners across Creative, Physical Production, Post, VFX, and BALA. You'll provide day-to-day support to our growing slate, bringing financial rigor by partnering closely on budgets, spotting potential overages early, and helping guide decisions before costs are locked in. It's a chance to work on Netflix Original content for the region as part of a fast-moving, highly collaborative team, ideal for an experienced production professional who has built and controlled budgets on larger-scale projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively and decisively within the Netflix team to manage third party production companies who are producing Netflix local content
- Implement best practices in financial control and cash management with our partners
- Build and review budgets with production partners, testing assumptions, rates, and scope to arrive at a well-supported budget aligned with Netflix’s approved investment.
- Monitor costs through prep, shoot, and post, maintain a forward-looking view of estimated final cost, and work with partners to understand variances and address emerging risks.
- Share project updates and reports with internal cross-functional teams to keep everyone aligned
- Partner with production and creative teams to assess the cost impact of scheduling, scope, and creative decisions; offer practical options and escalate significant risks when needed.
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of experience in film/TV production (e.g., Producer, line producer, production controller), with hands-on experience both building and controlling budgets on high-budget productions
- Bi/Multilingual proficiency with an emphasis on English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Proven ability to build a budget from script and schedule, defend it, and control spend against it through delivery, on or under approved cost. Familiar with everything included in a production budget, with a track record of forecasting EFC and spotting overage risks early.
- Deep knowledge of Indonesian production practices, crew and vendor rates, and how budgets actually get spent
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with intellectual curiosity, a results-driven mindset, and high standards of integrity and professionalism; organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize across multiple productions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Formal finance or accounting background
- Ability to identify potential hurdles for our productions and help keep a project on track
- High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis
- Passion for entertainment and finance
- Familiarity with Movie Magic, Global Vista, or PSL is a plus
