Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Avient Corporation seeks Product Manager at its facility located at 8155 Cobb Center Dr, Kennesaw, GA  30152.

 

Ensure that product introductions support the specialization strategy and meet the launch requirements of the POL process.  Initiate and update the strategic plan in conjunction with management in each region.  

Ensure products sales records are analyzed and performance is evaluated against sales targets.  Monitor product gross margins and profitability against control standards. 

 Develop and review product forecasts for management approval.  

Develop technical literature, advertising campaigns, definitions, specification, and performance standards.  

Develop, review, and coordinate product promotion, technical presentations, and advertising through marketing staff and marketing communications.  

Ensure customer and Avient sales personnel receive continuous technical support in the form of up-to-date product application technology, training, and problem solving.  

Develop contacts with major customers and suppliers.  

Maintain customer contact, promote sales efforts, evaluate market trends, and develop business at target accounts.  

Work with production to ensure product availability meets customer needs.  

Attend various trade/organization functions to develop business contacts and gather market information.  

Support Avient’s LSS improvement process.  

Provide coordination, support, and participation in the POL process and the situational analysis system. 

 Develop and implement the strategic marketing direction for the product platforms.  

Consider customer and market trends, feedback, and opportunities to create technology focus.  

Drive measurement and tracking activities including market size, market share, and return on investment. 

 Hybrid telecommuting permitted, 4 days per week in office required.  Less than 5% domestic travel required.  Anticipated locations include Long Beach, CA; Dallas, TX; Orlando, FL; Las Vegas, NV; and St. Louis, MO.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, Marketing Manager, or related occupation.

Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with:

(1) Utilizing Customer Centric Selling to drive profitable growth of the product portfolio;

 (2) Working with Supply Chain Management to ensure proper scale up of new product launches; 

(3) Utilizing SAP (pricing transactions) to create reporting to analyze historical pricing data and take actions to ensure margin expansion;

 (4) Utilizing Microsoft Excel advanced (Access, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to perform data analysis on products including margins, profitability, viability of promotions and confirm the efficacy of pricing across the organization; 

(5) Managing design files and software licenses access;

 (6) Working with technology team to validate alternative product formulations due to raw material discontinuations; and 

(7) Generating application lab projects to benchmark competitive products and develop value propositions.

Skills Required

  • Experience generating application lab projects to benchmark competitive products and develop value propositions
  • Ability to work hybrid with four days per week in office
