What Product Pricing contributes to Cardinal Health
Revenue Management is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of market strategy and profitability optimization through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels.  The group uses modeling, analytics, and econometrics to create pricing strategies for our products and services.
Product Pricing is responsible for managing price for all dynamically-priced products or services, including setting pricing structure by contract or customer segment and establishing catalog pricings for complex or new-to-Cardinal products and services. This job family also engages in key acquisitions to assess pricing approach and build enhancements which can be delivered post-close.

Job Summary

The Manager, Product Pricing Programs leads various pricing program strategies focused on creating competitive pricing at the item level. The primary market is SOURCE products to Retail, Kinray and Parmed customers, as well as some items for SPD and Acute customers. These programs include evaluation of specific customer requests and review of existing prices. In addition to setting price, focuses also include maintenance of technology and data needed for pricing success, while periodically engaging with customers and internal business partners on pricing related topics.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate price requests against available data to determine optimal item price
  • Review existing pricing and lead team in implementing changes as necessary to refresh to current dynamics
  • Maintain and grow technology necessary to support the pricing programs governed by this role
  • Engage with customers and sales teams on pricing topics
  • Partner across various organizations including Revenue Management, Pharma Commercial Enablement, Sales, IT, and Finance to ensure collective success
  • Partnership with various teams across Pharma Segment to drive actionable insights on pricing programs
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge by achieving a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to deliver significant positive sales and margin impacts for Cardinal Health
  • Manage the competitive intelligence as it relates to interpreting pricing guidance for our various product pricing programs while providing actionable insights back to the broader organization
  • Owner of Product Floor Pricing for core distribution business units, setting and maintaining floor price in consideration of market data, and identifying and communicating proactively the products that could be most impactful for price updates
  • Oversee the "Min Net Markup" pricing process with continued focus on program enhancement opportunities and effectiveness, enabling each customer to have product prices aligned to their broader distribution agreement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in a product pricing role or a data-reliant role within pharmaceutical industry, preferred
  • Ability to complete ad-hoc analysis on disparate data sets to arrive at actionable conclusions
  • Competence working efficiently with large datasets and analytics software
  • Experience with pricing strategies, pricing processes, pricing systems and controls, customer deal economics, and financial modeling techniques, preferred
  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and preparing data from multiple internal and external sources and leveraging it to develop and execute pricing strategies, preferred
  • Capable of working independently with general guidance on new projects
  • Generic pharmaceutical industry knowledge is a plus
  • Experience and desire to develop with both direct team members and other partners for both personal and financial growth

Anticipated salary range: $89,000 - $127,200
