The Manager of the Product Owner (PO) group oversees a global team of Product Owners, consisting of both full-time employees and contractors, responsible for managing select assets within a new and innovative platform that collects and reports on endpoint data for clinical trials. This platform consolidates multiple legacy systems into a unified solution, driving innovation and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and work closely with key leaders across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of platform features. A deep knowledge of and experience in best practices within the software development space is crucial for this role.

What you'll be doing:

Team Leadership

  • Oversee and manage a team of Product Owners, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Manage a diverse team of full-time employees and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and integration.

Product Ownership

  • Ensure Product Owners are effectively managing their respective assets within the new platform.
  • Support the creation and refinement of user stories, ensuring they meet the needs of the platform and align with overall business goals.

Platform Development

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legacy platforms into the new unified system.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new features and improvements.

SAFe Methodology

  • Champion the adoption and adherence to SAFe methodology within the PO group.
  • Ensure the team is well-prepared for Program Increment (PI) planning and all SAFe ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.

 Performance Metrics

  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership, providing insights into team performance and platform progress.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and demos to stakeholders, showcasing platform capabilities and advancements.

Best Practices in Software Development

  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and standards within the software development lifecycle.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to development processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

What we're looking for:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

· Experience:

  • Proven experience in a product management or product owner role, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Deep understanding of SAFe methodology and experience in implementing it within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in creating and delivering high-visibility presentations and demos.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the clinical trials or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices and standards in the software development space
